Our defense is a “Field of Dreams” according to Bama WR

I just don't know with this defense. It's has never jelled. I don't know if it was all the injuries to start with or what. It appears we have the talent, but there is always a bust with someone out of position (giving up 3rd and longs like crazy). I am hopeful they that will come together and start playing the way we expected them to at the start of the year. If they do, the bama game is very winnable, but it sure is getting late in the year.
I am getting so tired or every postgame comment from Heupel being „we’ve got some things to clean up“.

Yes; yes you do. The question is „why you haven’t gotten them cleaned up after telling us that they need to get cleaned up.
This defense looks LESS clean each week, not better.

I fear that „get some things cleaned up“ is about as meaningless as Fulmer constantly saying they were going to „work like heck“.

Quit talking about it and just get it done

Might as well run the yapper. Despite us winning, Washington ran his last week and then proceeded to come out and back his words up. I’d say this should motivate the defense but I dunno, it’s up to the coaches to abandon “bend but don’t break” soft cushion defense.

Yeah, it was great making their run game completely ineffective while building a 34-17 lead.

And then going conservative to let them claw right back into it. It’s great that we adjusted and I’ve given Banks credit for that. But still, if you want to shut up a loud mouth you give them nothing. Washington was a big reason that Arkansas was even still in the game by the second half.

Is he wrong? The Arkansas WRs were doing routes vs air for half the game.
No he’s not wrong. That’s the problem. I guess my point is that the fact that opponents are saying things like this probably publicly is evidence that our defense has been laughable. I’ve never been a “fire the coach” kind of guy, as I think it’s stupid and unhelpful for fans to be like that, but we’ll never get where we want to be as a program if the defense doesn’t improve dramatically.

And I know we’ve been without McCoy and Gibson. But the guys we have in the DB should still be at least middle of the pack in the SEC by now. If they aren’t, that’s a problem in itself that needs to be addressed.

Boo has been extremely lazy on the field so far. It was really evident this past week.
Didn't pay much attention to his play, but take your word.

I'm kinda over Boo. If he was a game-changer, he would have changed a game by now. In a positive way.

So it is what it is. If he wants to hit the portal at the end of the year, someone should hold the door open for him.

'course, I'm wrong a lot, and no fan of Banks either, so...

Can't blame the man for telling the truth...same thing was said last week and defense went out there and proved them RIGHT..if last week didn't motivate them this won't either, you'd think this would piss them off but doesn't seem like it even has an effect on them
