What other message boards are saying (Alabama pre-game edition)

Dude, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York aren’t too shabby in that regard either.

Or maybe they’re just shabby enough?
You're right.

I never met any native I'd call a hillbilly in New York, but Ohio has plenty of them, and I'm guessing Pennsylvania does, too. Probably a lot of them coal miners.

Go Vols!

Alabubba calling Tennessee a "hick fanbase" is cherry 🤣
I’d be proud to be called that. I’ve lived in Nashville for 20 straight years and I hate it more by the day.

Even though the food is good and the music is plenty, the congestion and the restrictions ain’t worth it.

Shocked me too. They seem to feel as uneasy as we do.
If our defense was as stout as they were last season, we’d be telling Bama to “get the lotion ready because this is going to hurt”.

Bama is quiet because Heupel has earned some well deserved respect.

Unfortunately, both teams have been defined by inconsistency in 2025.

Fair. We also gave up 44 to Georgia, 41 to Miss State, and 31 to Arkansas. Therein lies the problem.
34 to Miss State. Also, and I know it doesn't change the fact that our D has struggled, UGA and MSU were OT games. Georgia scored 38 in regulation time. When Mississippi State got the ball in OT, it was the fourth drive they started inside our 30 yard line.

A friend of mine who’s maybe the most level headed person you’ll meet literally said the same thing yesterday. His words-“you can feel the direction the SEC is moving to for the playoffs by watching the Auburn and UT games”
Bama and UGA currently lead the conference in penalties.

I fully expect the refs to take control of this game. It was bad against Arkansas. Wouldn’t surprise me if Bama gets the UGA treatment this week because the “rebuild” narrative is just too tempting to let go of so soon.

It's good to see Alabama fans have returned to their delusional assumption that they are "elite." They have demonstrated a feckless running game and a defense that has many holes. While our beloved Vols have plenty of obvious weaknesses, the cousin-lovers haven't displayed the same high-level execution that they showed under Saban. I believe that our defense will decide this game. If we can stop the run, force a couple of turnovers, and keep Ty Simpson running for his life behind the line of scrimmage, we will be victorious. I like how you changed what I wrote: I said Bama will "probably" with this game by 10+ points but it won't be a blowout, I say (which is my personal prediction) that Bama wins 35-27, so yes a one score game. I think Tennessee can surely keep it close but being at Bama and the Vols defense being as bad as it is, it could be a 10+ point win for the Tide. Thanks for playing......
I know you feel like this now… but come Satdee mornin’ your good instincts will prevail … you’ll be feeling a BIG ORANGE W deep down in your bones….. because that’s what’s going to occur Satdee night.

The rednecks think they are elite ? Lol

Yankee quotient going up has that effect. I’d prefer we had our tobacco fields back.

-I think we give up yards between the 20’s. How our defense plays in the red zone will determine the game. I like our chances at home. frick Tennessee

-I think if we get through Tennessee, it’s smooth sailing until the SEC championship which will inevitably be a huge challenge vs. Lane Kiffin.

-We are going to give up yards, likely in several significant chunks. But are those chunk plays by Tennessee touchdowns? Even if they can complete a 40 yard pass, it's a bigger deal in this game to tackle the guy after the completion, even if it's down on the 5, than in any other on the schedule.

-Tennessee's offense is much easier to defend in the red zone as the field compresses. Great effort and angles in pursuit matter.

-Tennessee has turned the ball over 9 times this year. Aguilar throws a lot of prayers downfield (which they come up with a decent amount of the time). DB's have to get their heads around and play the ball.

-If we can force them to execute in the red zone (likely forcing FGs more often than not), turn them over 2-3 times, and take care of the ball, we will likely have a comfortable victory.

-If Tennessee has multiple scores of 25+ yards and the turnover margin is equal, we're in trouble.

-We will very likely score on these guys through the air. Hopefully with a more health Ryan Williams. Tennessee has given up 250+ yards passing 4 times already this year against a group of QBs who are all fine, but not great. Don't count on much of a run game without Jam, though I'm sure we will still give out enough carries to keep them somewhat honest. It will likely take 30+ to win.

-How healthy is the battered UT secondary that made Gunner Stockton look like Matt Stafford?

-I think the big key is turnovers. We have been good at forcing them so far this year, need that to continue. That and holding them to 3 when they reach the red zone.

-42-10 Bama. frick TN and that puke orange and their hillbilly fan base.

-This Bama team makes a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball. But this Bama team finds away to win and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

-Just stop their run game and force Tennessee to throw more. Joey isn't good in short passing game. Just bend but don't break and I think we'll be okay. Tennessee gets their points in first quarter but struggled to maintain after that.

-The biggest key (besides mistakes of course) is our offense controlling the TOP like they usually do and preventing Tennessee from having too many drives for their offense. It also doesn’t help their defense that their offensive philosophy is short/quick drives.

-That's my biggest fear with Tennessee. They have the athletes to capitalize on those long chunk plays our defense has been prone to give up.

-The thing that killed us last year - without rewatching that abortion - was the inability to stop the run when they committed to it in the 2nd half.

-I think that if Miller isn't a go for Saturday, they HAVE to get Dear involved. He seems like too good of a player to not give him at least handful of touches.

-Tennessee probably has the worst defense in the SEC, we win this one easily.

-Aguilar looks to have a similar skill set to the Vandy quarterback. Very talented, creates a lot of plays, not super athletic, but can make a defense pay by escaping the pocket. Like the Vandy quarterback, he’ll also try to force some throws. I think we force a couple of turnovers on him and that’ll be the difference.

-Tennessee is 5-1, but it’s fraud. They are a mid tier team this year and we need to treat them as such.

-I don’t think for one second that Tennessee is anywhere good enough to hang with us.
"-Tennessee probably has the worst defense in the SEC, we win this one easily."👈
