Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I disagree entirely. Pate is reading a script he was told to write by the people who sign his paychecks. The reason he's acknowledging it is because it's pretty on-its-face. Few are watching these games and not seeing multiple calls that make no sense. Phantom false starts, convenient calls for holding and non-calls too. Someone has to say, "Yeah, we see it's happening." I mean, the announcers usually do this during the broadcast. But this has ALWAYS happened and it's never ever led to any change. It continues unabated and it will. At this point, I've adjusted my expectations to expect calls like that. And while I don't agree with them, I try not to even react to them. I chose to watch that game knowing what the deal was. It's on me.

He’s been talking about it for a long time. How embarrassing it is for the college football, how embarrassing it is for the SEC.

He also owns all the rights to his show. So the only people who really sign his checks are advertisers.

Josh Pate can’t lead the SEC to change their ref policies. He’s literally just a CFB personality.

This. They keep putting bandages on broken bones. As long as ownership doesn't change that bone is never going to heal.
And it's not going to happen. #1 there's no incentive to do so when the worst team in the league still generate obscene profits. #2 There are multiple people feeding off of that pie that would all have to agree to sell. I don't see it happening. I accepted that awhile back. I see more and more Titans fans accepting that.

If you really believe Indiana’s schedule is just as difficult this year and last year than an SEC school, it’s not worth more discussion. You can cherry pick whatever you want, but it’s disingenuous.
That’s kinda irrelevant . The Question isn’t if the schedules are tougher or easier.
It’s whether or not you can turn around a team and be relevant in a year or two and the answer is absolutely yes, in any conference.

From 3-7 to 11-2 in year 2 . UT. Volunteers - SEC

It should be more.... a lot more. View attachment 781318
Ken Williamson has been the white hat for every game in that era except for the 2022 game (Jason Autry). I've posted several times about him, with pictures of gameplay infractions. These are some of my favorite "no calls".....View attachment 781324View attachment 781325View attachment 781326*all from the same game

I can't help it if your camp refuses to believe their own eyes.
I have no entourage sir, I prefer to be a lone wolf . I understand you and your kliq have got it figured out . Enjoy the rest of your evening

I think Curt Cignetti is seriously underrated. Everyone harps on that schedule and it's a genuine gripe but look at what this guy is doing at Indiana. Some of his best players NOW were 0 stars he recruited to James Madison. It's INSANE!

Top WR is a 0* he brought in at James Madison
Starting RB is a 2* he brought in at James Madison
Top tackler is a 0* LB he brought in at James Madison
Top interior D-lineman is a 0* he brought in at James Madison (probably a top 3 or 5 DT in the nation)
Top CB is a 3* he brought in at James Madison (just shut down Lanning's 5* receivers)

We’re #1 woo!
Sometimes it feels like I'm the insane one because everyone complains constantly about our defense. But the numbers keep backing me up. You absolutely cannot just look at total yards. This defense is getting stops at crucial points in the game and they are turning the opposing offense over and scoring at a high clip. It's not me who's insane!

It’s pretty impressive how quickly he came up with that lie in the game to get out of the timeout he called AND to stick to it through the post game interview. Diabolical, he is.

If the refs had any integrity…If I was a ref the next time Kirby told me anything, I would just go sure I believe you….LOL

I mean if you are a ref and he just made a FOOL of you, how could you believe anything he ever says again.
