Arkansas is one of the best 3rd down conversion teams in NCAA just FYI. This is by no means saying our defense doesn't need to be better. And we absolutely SUCK on third down defense. We are gonna get blown out. That defensive display yesterday was pathetic. Flickers of brilliance (not flashes) and a weak DL (nothing new this season).
We do that and our defense goes from Swiss cheese to Kleenex in about 2.5 quarters.
Well, Alabama is 11 at sacks against in the conference, we're gonna get ours. This is your worst take yet.
Ty Simpson will smoke us passing. You thought our run defense was bad, just wait until you see how bad he smokes us over the middle.
They win by at least 10. Yes, Simpson is that good.
Yes, we will bring pressure, but it will absolutely not be enough.
I’ve watched both teams all year, and Ty Simpson is a solid QB but he hasn’t played against a pass rush like ours.
Bama is not run dominant. That’s good because our rush defense is not good. Our offense is too good for their defense.
Football is like Boxing in that styles make fights. Bama doesn’t match up well with us imo.
I’m worried about referees in Tuscaloosa honestly. These referees need some accountability. In fair called game I like our chances in Bama.
I haven't seen our defense ring anybody's bell yet.

Tennessee gets scoop-and-score TD off thunderous sack - Stream the Video - Watch ESPN
Blake Shapen is sacked and Joshua Josephs is there to recover the ball and run it back for a Tennessee touchdown on Watch ESPN, first streamed on Saturday, September 27, 2025.www.espn.com
Why? They beat Mizzou by 3.Hostile nighttime road environment coupled with a swiss cheese D. This will likely be a South Carolina 2022 type of game.
We’re also #1 in sacksAfter week 7, UT is #1 in most offensive stats.
Here is the problem. We are #14 (out of 16) on defense! Two things. If we play a defense that stops us we are in big trouble.
JH as got to keep the pedal to the metal on offense because we can't stop a nose drip.
I had made a thread on Saturday during the game.Something needs to be done about the SEC refs. They are the worst in the country, and they seem to pick on UT consistently, come on ....ARY 1 penalty to UT's 10. (Boy that Petrino must be a hell of a disciplinarian).

This isn't just a game, it involves people's jobs , millions of bucks(Gambing and NIL results), and recruiting results. Poor Auburn has been screwed even more, and could cost their coach and staff their jobs.
Sorry but an apology on Sunday just does not cut it and doesn't change the results. An apology and a dollar might buy you a cup of coffee. Maybe make them full time employees of the SEC with accountability. It's one thing if we lose to Bammer, but if it is due to a bad call or a none call, that's something else.![]()

Their backup is solid, but it's been these larger backs that have given us trouble. Bothwell and both Arkansas running backs were over 230 pounds. Georgia definitely had less success, as they only rushed for 3.6 yards per carry. Not to be that guy but as long as they have a running back they will be able to run. Until the defense proves otherwise.
In a fair called game, I like the Vols chances at Alabama too. But fair calling? 5h1t, most of the officials? I don't know if they are calling it with their eyes open, or using the force. Maybe some of them are on the take, or betting under a pen name, like Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain. Or maybe they are just morons.I’ve watched both teams all year, and Ty Simpson is a solid QB but he hasn’t played against a pass rush like ours.

They were on the cusp of rolling on Arkansas, 17 point lead in 4th quarter, then took the foot off the accelerator. Even with a less than average Bama team, UT can't let up, this years Bama is very much above average.I’m guilty. I thought we’d roll Arkansas considering their entire defensive staff hadn’t coached a single game together. I for sure as hell didn’t expect them to play near perfect ball with only 1 penalty.
