We actually did exactly that after the first fumble and missed on 2 long throwsMy only complaint is this... when the defense creates a turnover in plus territory I would like to see us take a shot down the field or to the end zone. That quick change and quick momentum change could really help. Maybe there is a reason why we don't that I don't see
That’s like saying I’m not qualified to put a band aid on my child because I didn’t go to med school. Bravo Bernard. I’d bet you never worked an oil rig but still know how to pump gas? You prob didn’t invent the internet, bet you still have the ability to use it? Prob never built a car on the line in Michigan but can explain to someone how to change a tire? This wasn’t your best work buddy. What are your excuses for never competing or coaching any sport remotely close to this level? How could you possibly know what to do?
Refusing to throw the ball against 8 in the box with a single high safety and man coverage against Brazzell and Matthews for the final 20 minutes of the second half isn't because of injuries.I’m not sure this is the right answer but we honestly are dealing with some injuries on the offense that have really handcuffed what we do. Ethan Davis, Pendleton, Jackson, Jefferson, Brame to name a few.
Some are playing through it while others can’t.
Is it is us not wanting to be aggressive or is it defensive schemes that aren’t allowing us to do soWhat has happened to the offense the last two games? It seems the play calling has changed from the first 4 games to the last two against State ahd Arkansas. It seems we have been less aggressive and more hesitant with play calling and more conservative in general. It’s like Heupel has morphed into Butch Jones getting ultra conservative and trying to sit on a lead. I noticed he started doing that last year as well now last season we had a good enough defense that we could do that and trust our defense to win the game. However we cannot do that this season the defense cannot be trusted to win the game we need our offense to score as much as we can and keep the throttle down. We left at least 10 points on the board against Arkansas and that game got way too nerve wracking at the end cause of Heupel’s conservative play calling and trying to milk the clock. We were fortunate we didn’t lose to Miss.St and Arkansas but a win is still a win but it don’t have to be so damn stress inducing. And if Heupel stays aggressive and goes for the kill shot against Georgia we win that game. Maybe he was saving some stuff for Bama and not showing much against State and Arky i don’t know.. Always play to win not too lose!! I watched A&M deliver the knockout punch to Florida last night and thought man it would be nice if we could close out a game like that and not sweat out another close game.
I don't think he trusts Aguilar fully yet like he did Hooker. And I sorta am willing to give him some weight there because while Joey hasn't made that many poor throws, a lot of his interceptions have come from high balls that receivers don't adjust for.He definitely had it in 2022 and I thought in 23 and 24 he called a more conservative game because Joe and Nico couldn't really run his offense like he wanted. But Joey can and he is still being conservative. Agree he is for sure not coaching like he did in the beginning??
Those analogies are ridiculously ignorant. You're being highly critical of decisions made during the course of a high level game. Knowing how to put gas in my car doesn't qualify me to criticize how the oil was processed to its end use as gasoline. That’s like saying I’m not qualified to put a band aid on my child because I didn’t go to med school. I never needed to be an SEC coach to see that coach H has made some terrible decisions this year, especially when it comes to clock mgmt and having any fortitude to close out games.

We made the national championship playoffs just last season. WTF could you possibly know that Heupel doesn't know?
How long was Franklin at PSU? How many years has his team been ranked preseason top 5 and not come close to winning a NC. What was our preseason rank last year? How about 2022?James Franklin got his team to the playoff and knows a hell of a lot more about football than PSU fans and it still didn't save him from being fired while being owed over 56 million dollars.
BTW I'm not suggesting Heupel should be fired, just pointing out that fans can still see things that are wrong and don't have to be football geniuses. and being a football genius doesn't mean you make the correct decision every time and it doesn't protect you from making big blunders either.
It might surprise you to know this, but coach didn’t have to get a doctorate to coach. Plenty of people have a good grasp on football but aren’t head coaches. It isn’t the equivalent of brain surgery. I may not make 10 mil a year but I still have the knowledge to tell you we wasted a few timeouts that we couldn’t roll a few games ago. Those analogies are ridiculously ignorant. so now we're judging everyone based on stupid pre season rankings? How long was Franklin at PSU? How many years has his team been ranked preseason top 5 and not come close to winning a NC. What was our preseason rank last year? How about 2022?
Another ridiculous analogy. Franklin has often fallen short of expectations while Heupel has exceeded expectations. See the difference?
No one is saying it's brain surgery and it's always easy to criticize after the fact. I was completely bewildered by the play sequence after we got the fumble in Georgia territory leading 35-30. Still, I don't know how much of that was on Heupel and/or Aguilar. Lots of unknowns to be making absolute claims about a guy's coaching skills who has exceeded expectationsIt might surprise you to know this, but coach didn’t have to get a doctorate to coach. What’s your obsession with licking the coaching staffs sneakers? There’s nothing wrong with pointing out that we are in a good spot when it comes to wins and losses, but at the same time point out we have some decision making that can be cleaned up.
The thread question wasn’t “what do I know that Heup doesn’t”. He has proved to coach scared this year and not close games out when we get the chance. We haven’t been good at capitalizing on turnovers, we’ve got conservative and let teams back in games. We’ve just not really put our feet on any opponents throat yet this year.
It's not just the rankings. It's the expectations. It's the rosters. It's the recruiting rankings. Dumbing it down doesn't make your argument any stronger. I don't know if Heupel knows more about football than Fulmer. Knowing the game and coaching it at different levels are two entirely different things. Heupel has already done something as a coach Fulmer never did, but Fulmer has a natty that Heupel may never getso now we're judging everyone based on stupid pre season rankings?
I mean should I bring up all the times in the 90s that Tennessee was ranked in the top 5 and never even beat Florida let alone made it to the SECCG or the NC game? Does this mean Heupel knows more about football than Fulmer did?
