I believe I just said that about the university or the third party vendors. Can’t blame either one of them. They are going to get what they can get. You appear to be blaming season ticket holders for selling tickets at high prices. Here is what you said:no, why would they? are you gonna sell your house to someone for half the price because they can't afford it otherwise or are you gonna find someone that will pay your asking price?
I hate to tell you but the days of Derek Dooley and Butch Jones are over. the Vols are relevant again and UT tickets now cost what Alabama tickets cost because everyone in the world wants to see the Vols play at Neyland. that's the way this works. you can't blame the AD or the university because fans are all reselling tickets for high prices, that's the way the world works.
Agreed. The last sentence of your first paragraph is why Vol season ticket holders can resell their tickets at high prices. Somebody will pay it. At least until, as you said, when we suck again.demand will go down only when Tennessee sucks again. Tennessee football means too much to too many people, for every person that gets a ticket there's 10,000 that wishes they had a ticket and would pay anything to go.
here's what I think, there's a certain class of fans that got by for years when the team was mediocre and they could get tickets relatively cheap, not realizing how things were in the rest of college football for the teams that competed for titles. now the tide has turned and they realized they don't get to have next-to-free tickets to games anymore and they aren't happy with it.
the purpose of this whole thread is that we are all supposed to be mad at the UT AD that ticket prices are sky high and pricing out average fans with game tickets that costs 1000s.I believe I just said that about the university or the third party vendors. Can’t blame either one of them. They are going to get what they can get. You appear to be blaming season ticket holders for selling tickets at high prices. Here is what you said:
“you don't get it. it's not "3rd party vendors". it's your neighbors, the people you work with, anyone who is a season ticket holder. THESE ARE RESOLD TICKETS. there's no university or 3rd party vendor to blame. ITS VOLS FANS that resell their tickets for these high prices.
Maybe I misunderstood what you are saying. Is it wrong for Vol fans to sell their tickets for whatever amount they can get?
And by the way, nobody needs a lecture that we are better than we were during the 15 years of wandering in the wilderness. That’s pretty obvious.
Then we agree on most of what you said. The only thing I could be mad at UT about would be if they sold large blocks of tickets to resellers who then marked them up drastically. I thought that in fact did occur but that arrangement is supposedly coming to an end. As far as fans go, I’m not going to blame folks for getting what they can. That’s their business.the purpose of this whole thread is that we are all supposed to be mad at the UT AD that ticket prices are sky high and pricing out average fans with game tickets that costs 1000s.
I pointed out to these idiots that this is not true at all. the secondary market is what makes ticket prices so high. The secondary market is made up of fans, not the UT AD. it's fans that are pricing fans out of games, not the school. the school sells tickets for an incredibly reasonable price given the outrageous demand for their product.
lol were you sitting in the visitors section because that's definitely not happening where I sit. the noise was literally deafening down in the lower bowl the last 3 games I went to, Florida in 22 and 24 and Georgia this year.Look, you can be a smart mouth if you want to, I've been going to games for years, I know what I see around me, thousands are standing and not yelling. You come sit with me and see for yourself
You could attend UAB for under $30 a ticket. You are just flat wrong. It's simple supply and demand. I have season tickets. If I put them on the secondary market I do so for what I think they can sell for. If I know I'm not going then I put them what I KNOW they will sell forthe purpose of this whole thread is that we are all supposed to be mad at the UT AD that ticket prices are sky high and pricing out average fans with game tickets that costs 1000s.

that's not relevant to this discussion. UAB is a very low demand game. most fans aren't going to bother going to a game that's an automatic win against sorry competition. most of those tickets are sold to families with kids. I'm talking about the big boy football games with high demand for tickets. You could attend UAB for under $30 a ticket. You are just flat wrong
Oh so your aren't concerned about going to a game. You want things catered to you and your desires. That's a despicable place to livethat's not relevant to this discussion. Your claim was ticket prices were pricing families out of going to games bc they cost thousandsWTF are you smoking dude? are you high cause you make zero sense. maybe bed time? I don't get it.

it happened in the pre-josh heupel era when Tennessee sucked and the number of season ticket holders was at an all time low. there were tens of thousands of unsold tickets that got sold in bulk to resellers. Why would they do that if there is a 20K waiting list for season tickets. It could be that what is allotted for individual game tickets or tickets for opposing teams are not completely sold - but I doubt they are selling large blocks of tickets to resellers.
What you see on the resellers is fans selling tickets to make money coupled with the fees those resellers add.
you have me mistaken for someone else. my claim is that the reason ticket prices are so high is because of the secondary market, not because of UT. ticket prices for the games that most fans want to go to are in fact really expensive on the secondary market. the only reason UAB tickets are so cheap is because demand for those tickets are really low thus the prices are low. Nobody wants to drive 3 or more hours to sit in 100 degree heat to watch UT win by 70 points. those tickets always get sold to families with kids that are local.Your claim was ticket prices were pricing families out of going to games bc they cost thousands
I point out that's false
You claim well those games aren't good enough
You are entitled
My buddy and his wife, who my wife and I have known for 25 years, reached out asking if we had any games we weren't going to this year. Wanted to take his son to his first game. I said UAB we aren't going to and is unclaimed by family. Take them. He offered to pay and I refused. Not a big deal they weren't selling for much. Did he respond "welll that's a game that is low demand." Of course not.

I don't know why you call me entitled for just saying the truth? that's truly f#cked up man you got some real anger issues to work on.
yeah and everything I said is correct so I don't get your point. you're very confusing. you need to go back and read the thread to know what we're talking about here.UTFranklinVol said:

UAB is a very low demand game.
I'm not angry. Why would you think you could make me angry? It's only entitled people who complain " average family can't go" when in fact they can. It's jus not the game you want
lol you need to go read ALL my posts. you think I'm arguing something that I'm not. you're barking up the wrong tree.UTFranklinVol said:

And why the hell would anyone be mad at the AD for something they did not do? They don't control anything after the tickets are sold
The struggle is real lol. It’s easily the most uncomfortable stadium I’ve ever been to. Whoever designed Neyland was 5’5” 135 lbs.Me and my 78 year old dad did our part for the georgia game we were standing and yelling cheering most of the game. I mean i had to stand really im 6’1 and 267lbs a wide body who can barely fit my ass in them small seats at Neyland.
