Penn St fires James Franklin

I've never cared for Franklin and always thought him and Penn State were overrated. But to fire him midseason is really s**** by Penn State. Franklin did resurrect that program after the most heinous scandal and made them into a perrenial contenders. He never got the job done, but to all of a sudden kick him to the curb for a 3 game losing streak is some BS. I hope Penn State take a long lost ride on the coaching carousel
Bill O'Brien did....

They had the ball with 38 seconds in a tie game with a national title game berth on the line 10 MONTHS AGO

I think this is too rash
I tend to agree with you, and the fact that they pulled the trigger on this now instead of waiting, makes me think that they already have a coach in mind. They might already have some back room negotiations in progress.

So 5 years after the "incident." Yea, you can give him credit.

I get it. You like Michigan 1st. The Big Ten is trash homie.

I have no clue how me also liking Michigan has anything to do with saying Franklin did an awesome job winning a B1G title in year 3.

It was still the 2nd best conference in 2016.

Maybe. But I would argue that saved his job last year. If Penn St has gone 9-3 or worse, he likely would have been fired. He never wins big games. His record vs ranked opponents is on par with Butch Jones. Now that the Big 10 has more than 2 good teams, he's getting exposed.

I’ll probably be in the minority but I think this is a bad move for them

6 double digit win seasons in 12 years, 3 straight double digit win seasons and two playoff wins last year.
I totally agree. I think PSU screwed up by firing him, and I’m loving it! From all aspects.

As long as Kentucky doesn’t hire him.
