They are doing an honest search for another candidate but I agree with you, the NIL situation there makes it prohibitive to win in the SEC. Any coach who takes it is desperate for the opportunity or just taking it for the huge guaranteed money they will assuredly have to promise any coach worth a darn.

looks like Ole Miss has fairly manageable schedule and has Georgia this week..kinda need GA to win and lose later, but not sure who can do it, maybe Texas.

Just another weird game, which is becoming the norm.

Not going to complain over an SEC loss, but the way ND handled Arky's defense on the road, I expected more inside of Neyland. Oh and REFS. They killed us too. Some of the worst officiating I can remember, and I speak my opinion, whether pro or not in UT's favor. I just call it as I see it and this was awful and in Arky's favor.

Wrong. McCoy was the 14th rated DB out of the transfer portal. Hood wasn’t even a top 400 transfer portal player, all according to 247

What's remarkable to me is that many of these coaches on the proverbial "hot seat" are actually good coaches that have had success prior to NIL/Portal. Dabo, Franklin, Fickell at Cincy.

I think any coach in the country will tell you (and Kirby Smart has) that it's far more about the players than the coaching. Far more times than not talent will outweigh coaching. Those three guys are absolutely not landing the talent they were landing previously. No Saquon or Micah Parsons on PSU this year. Deshaun Watson isn't walking back in that locker room in Clemson. It's obviously taking fans a lot of time to adjust to the new reality. They are all assuming PSU, Clemson, and Wisconsin are still stacked like in the glory days. Wisconsin lost a QB to Florida who wasn't even very good, and we in the SEC know that Florida has a middle-of-the-SEC-type of NIL budget. Lagway is being paid by Corporate interests—Not Florida's collectives.

It’s true. Adjust or fall behind. Luckily, UT has benefitted and done well with NIL. And we will continue to do so.

If you're Arkansas and 90% of the other teams in the SEC have bigger budgets than you to buy players, what adjustments do you make? I hear this all the time so I'm not picking on you but this whole narrative that schools and coaches have been "slow to embrace NIL" is just a copout for not having as much money as the teams you are competing against.

What if he’s not given the budget to compete for elite safeties? It’s not so black and white. Too much money involved to think it is.
