We had a good defense last year?as much as banks is struggling, i think we need too pump the brakes on firing.
we had a good defense last year, and we are incredibly young. i mean if he takes a HC job, then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have had this very thought numerous times, wishing an entire team and coaching staff would go out on the field and refuse to leave until the game is called fairly, and be willing to forfeit unless their team is given a fair chance in the game.I don't really understand why coaches don't do more to protest awful calls during a game.
Like, it was very obvious Kirby called a timeout and it could be plainly seen on the jumbotron during the game.
What if Hugh Freeze had just.... refused to leave the field of play until they took a UGA timeout or charged them with a Delay of Game....
Either he wins the standoff with an entire stadium behind him or they hit him with a couple of sideline warnings and flags and he wins the court of public opinion and EVERYONE will be talking about the corruption.
Only our offense is designed to be a Ferrari. So you let it be a Ferrari. Don't try and turn it into a Pinto when you get a lead.Game management. If the offense executes and stays on the field then we chew up all the clock up 2 scores.
It’s not my favorite strategy but that’s what coaches do.
Buckle up for what happens to us Saturday. I really hope we have a 7 to 10 point lead or more come to fourth quarter, because I want to see what the SEC will do on the heels of last night to try to protect Bama.SEC finals show did not show or mention the Kirby TO fiasco. They showed the goal line mess twice and complained that GA was not awarded a TD on the play.
The Empire was not this corrupt in its hey day. The Emperor would be impressed.
The refs pissed off the fans and the team. They came out with a vengeance.Defense was Jekyll and Hyde yesterday. First half, they looked so unmotivated for most of it. Third quarter, they were fire. Seemed to revert back when Heupel pulled back the reins on offense. Not sure why Heupel likes to throttle back the offense when we get the lead. Foot needs to stay on the gas.
You can’t be serious. Banks has been fine. He is not elite. He has had two good years and three not so good.We had a good defense last year?
Try the best UT defense in 25 years...and in era in which far more points are scored and attached to a fast offense.
People don't seem to grasp how elite Banks has been here, even with a very fast offense (which was supposed to be impossible to even pull off according to some...). And yes I agree this is a down year so far, but for THIS good of a coach, you deal with a rebuild. Dear god the impatience of some is mindnumbing. Like children.
Let's not Shoop it, again, like KnoxVol said.
I just don’t understand the philosophy. It seems to go against what we would want to do with a fast offense. We shouldn’t want a bend and don’t break. You would want to get the ball as quick as possible to your offense and that comes with the other team getting off the field. Even if that means they score a little more. Instead we let too many long methodical drives that keep our offense on the bench and limit our scoring chances. If we’re going fast and spring fast, we should want a defense that plays man and gets lots of stops and even quick scores by the other team.I’d expect to see a lot of zone vs Bama. Don’t believe they want to leave Ty on an island in man vs those WRs.
And Boo has been getting beat m2m by the slot.
If we had McCoy + Gibson healthy and also on the field I think the plan would look a lot different.
Zone is UTs weakness...........I’d expect to see a lot of zone vs Bama. Don’t believe they want to leave Ty on an island in man vs those WRs.
