For 15 Years we Lose...

Why not shock the world and run outside
Because the way this offense sets up the run heavily favors the middle of the field.

Heupel creates light boxes to run in to by spreading the defense out so far wide.

Doesn't mean they can never do outside runs of course, and we have the occasional one, but up the middle will nearly always be our best bet for success. And considering we've been the best rushing offense in the SEC since Heupel took over, fair to say it's working pretty well.

Majors played safe most of his career here, the entire game. Fulmer only started doing it after the Natty. Honestly, it aggravated me to no end how Fulmer, the last several years, relied on luck to win. A penalty at the end of the game or a turnover or two at the end.
The Memphis loss was the poster child for Fulmerball.

I am blown away. Arkansas has been embarrasing Tennessee for a long time. I really thought people would be happy about any win over them.

I think the issue is that they saw Arkansas vs Notre Dame (like most people) and wrote Arkansas off as terrible. However, Arkansas had new momentum and staff. Change staffs can improve your team, look at UCLA right now as an example. They are not the same team that got blown out by New Mexico at home.

The 4th quarter conservatism and conservative decision making in general is so uncharacteristic of Heupel. It’s like I’m watching a different coach or something.
