Until Banks can show he can stop teams and adjust then that is what most are going to think. That was the reason Tn stayed at 15 for weeks. We can score points but cant stop anybody. Heup has to know he cant afford to take his foot off of the gas. He does not have a choice.

It’s so bizarre to see us go from one of the best defenses in the country to one of the worst. Yet we’re one of the best at TO’s, Sacks and TFL’s. And it’s not just a banks problem, guys are over pursuing, not setting the edge, can’t get off blocks, etc. Nobody picks up the man that enters their zone guys out here guarding grass. And to me it appears we’re slower than last year too

Well its on him to fix his problem and I dont think he can. Just go back the last 2 years we had to out score decent teams to win. He has trouble stopping avg teams. Either on here or X I made some mad when I said Ga will go back to looking avg after our game and Gunner was not even a decent QB and he is not. Ga has scored over 40 1 times besides our game. M Bobo of all OC schools him. I also think there is something not right with the S/C on this team with all the injuries.

Looking at some individual stats. Joseph’s, herring, west, bailey, Eason have combined 6.5 TFL’s that’s not a sack. Granted we’re only half way through the season but that’s really low. We’re not getting a push up front. Last year Jospeh’s like Eason combined for 13 alone. 26.5 when you include our top 5 linemen

He’s also so inconsistent. Like in 2022 when he called a masterpiece of a game against Clemson but overall that year most games were pretty bad. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if it clicks and the defense turns it around this season at some point. Just not sure we’ve seen a turn around this bad when the players are mostly the same up front

I still have a problem with our aggressiveness. When we were underdogs Heupel took risks, scored points, and we put our foot on their throats. Now that we are favored it seems Heupel is too conservative. Almost afraid to lose leads rather than willing to crush like the early years. I mean our offense tonight was a hot knife through butter but we got too conservative on 3rd and 4th downs. We’re losing the advantage we had when Heupel started. I’d like to see a return to that aggressiveness.
