This one kinda floors me. IU may be a legit contender. That kind of turnaround in two seasons, even in the portal era, is astounding.
Right place at the right time.

Indiana had one of the easiest schedules last season, coupled with one of the highest NIL budgets. Theywon all their unranked games, and got a big donation in their offseason.

Cignetti gonna end up in Gainseville or Happy Valley. He's legit
I wonder how the current NIL/transfer portal era is going to affect coaching movement. With a 12 team playoff and the ability to offset inherent recruiting disadvantages with the portal, seems like some jobs are more attractive nowadays compared to the past. Indiana and Ole MIss are two examples of this.

The only thing not working in Cignettis favor regarding another job is age. If this was 10 years ago, I could see him getting several big offers.

Good point. He may be at the point where he's settled in and ready to finish where he's currently at. If IU wins the B10, will be interesting to see what he does.

With the Big NIL deal the Big Ten will be sharing, I don't expect Cignetti to leave... In a perfect situation, why would he torture himself by going to a SEC or ACC school, when the playoffs are in his grasp every year at Indiana.?

He's from Pittsburg so I could see him at Penn State.....He's also coached at Pitt. Once under Johnny Majors there at Pitt.
