It isn't a bad defense. It just does not have elite talent. Arion Carter should be the middle linebacker and a rangy 6'3 athlete should be the other backer. Safety should be 6'2" and up. Ballhawks. We just don’t fit the profile of an elite defense. We can still win games of course. But we need more raw talent. Recruiting rankings matter. Always have and always will.

Last year gave a lot of people false hope about how good Banks really is. That defense was carried by a fantastic defensive line and the good fortune of facing a schedule filled with mostly terrible offenses.

We're generating a ton of pressure and TFL's. Likewise I m pretty sure we are leading the league in turnovers generated. So we're clearly doing something right.
