It will have to transform. I don't have any idea what that's going to look like, but there is a limit to how much profit can be made on college football. It will only get more expensive to compete for titles.
If it wasn't for the love I have for the Vols I would already be out, just like I am with all the pro sports.

They don't understand or care that they are slaughtering what makes CFB so special.

The “college” will be taken out of it. Club sports renting the trademark from the university.
 
The doctors I learned this diet from say that calories are irrelevant. They don't think you can even accurately measure calories because calories in processed food are not the same as the equivalent calories of something like red meat. Energy balance has to consider how much is absorbed and stored. A ketogenic diet puts your body in the mode where it refuses to hang on to it. The calorie counters seem to miss this detail.

For the record, my cardiologist is very pro keto and not bothered in the slightest by what some consider to be "unhealthy".

Calories are definitely not irrelevant. Counting calories may not be simple, and tracking how your body is burning calories may not be simple, but difficulties measuring it aside, the bottom line is- if you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight.

Calories in processed food are the same as calories in any other kind of food — for purposes of calorie surplus/deficit, which is ultimately going to determine weight loss or weight gain. That Harvard article says processed foods are different not because a calorie is different depending on what kind of food it is, but because when people eat more processed foods, they end up choosing to consume more calories than when they are eating other foods.

But my main point was that “health” is about more than just calories and weight. Yes, you will be healthier if you consume the appropriate amount of calories than if you over-eat (or under-eat). But 1,000 calories of pixie sticks (or cheese) is still less healthy than 1,000 calories of spinach, kale, carrots and pistachios. As that Harvard article says:

Focus on diet quality. When planning your meals, try to cut down on or eliminate processed foods, which can drive your body to consume more. Instead, focus on choosing unprocessed foods, including lean meats, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables in their natural form.

I've read all kinds of studies also linking sugar to heart disease. And heart disease is typically the #1 cause of death in the US, one of the highest sugar-consumers. I'll link one in case someone wants to read but it isn't even one I have read before. It was the first result. There are more. Just to be clear, consuming a lot of “added sugar” is absolutely terrible for you on every level — including but certainly not limited to the fact that it is a very easy way to consume way way too many calories. But it is also just terrible for your health in every way — and has no positive nutritional value.

In the same way, consuming a lot of cheese, while maybe not as terrible as just consuming sugar, is, at a minimum, not optimally contributing to your overall health. You are using up valuable calories that you could be using to fuel yourself with nutrient-rich foods that have more positive effects on your body.
