Arky has been a thorn….

I just hope to see more effort from the defense. So much standing around and giving up hoping everyone else will make a play so far this year. The scheme wasn’t great either because every blitz was telegraphed but it doesn’t help when the potential all-SEC type players like Xavien Sorey and Cam Ball haven’t been good at all this year inexplicably.
Are there any significant injuries on defense? I saw that there is a defensive lineman and defensive back out for this game, but I have no idea if they are impact players.

I think if you looked over his tenure here we've been very good with turnovers, less so with penalties but I just don't think it's accurate to say his teams are mistake prone. What's your baseline for comparison? All that's anecdotal and any fan of any team can come up with the same.
It’s my opinion, doesn’t have to be yours. It’s been talked about a lot on here. For the Vols to take another step, win the SEC for example, I believe the unforced mistakes will have to significantly be reduced. It’s one of the reasons the Vols find themselves in a lot of last possession games.

The DT is probably first off the bench as part of the rotation but hasn’t been healthy most of the year. The DT depth overall might be the weakest on the team. Had to move a backup OL to DT right before the season started.

Oh, don't worry---you guys will give us a game for sure. I think the last SEC team worth a darn that we really manhandled was Missouri in 2022. We ALWAYS get everyone's best effort for some reason. It's the Tennessee curse; especially against Florida. Florida could lose to Furman and the next week come out and look like world beaters against Tennessee.

91st in Fewest Penalty Yards per game. It’s an issue.
I felt compelled to come back to this. When, if, the fog of penalty clears, more precisely, as it clears, it creates synergy. I was amazed watching the Texans last week as they bludgeoned the Ravens. The most obvious difference in their play was the lack of penalties. Bears watching across the AFCS.

It was a cold, rainy night. I was sitting near the Arkansas fan section when “the fumble” occurred. I’ve never felt so sorry for a group of opposing fans. They were celebrating being undefeated one minute and the next, stunned silence. John Ward’s radio call was, “What else, Bill Anderson, can happen to Arkansas??!!”. They also lost the following week and were out of the national championship discussion after starting 8-0. But they got us back in ’99 and knocked us out as well. Unbelievable memories!
There was also a missed penalty and spotting of the ball not called when the Hog's punter kicked the ball into the end zone.

I think there was some sort of voodoo unleashed by the hogs back in 71 after we beat them in the liberty bowl. They got a late fg that would have sealed the game called back on a controversial penalty. Granted, we still had to drive down and score a TD, but it seems that there's some weord mojo surrounding the hogs when they play us.

Petrino will probably invite Rohan Davey's entire family to the game on Saturday.

This is the problem with our program, everyone that is a somebody tends to have voodoo over us: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and now Arkansas. When are we going to start putting voodoo spells on them.

Going all the way back, wasn't the original sec east/west format 2 permanent cross division rivals and UT's 2 were Bama and Arky?

It never made sense why we were stuck with them but I remember stressing through those games more often than high fiving even then.
