Did Petrino sabotage Pittman's job?

He seems like a devious enough kind of dude to do something like that.
There is nothing to suggest Petrino is a devious guy or purposely sabotaged Pittman's job. Pittman lost his job because he was a bad head coach. If he was not such a likable guy, he probably would have been gone a couple of years ago.

Regarding Petrino, he made a mistake almost 20 years ago and he has paid for it. He has done nothing like that since. It's time for people to let it go.

It’s possible but I don’t think it required sabotage to push Pittman out. The guy ran his course. For a 60 year old first time coach at a mid program, he did fine, but it was always going to end this way.

You mean he was taking a page out of Phil Fulmer's playbook?
I didn't say it but I was definitely thinking it. I'll give credit for Fulmer opening up the offense at the time because Majors was playing too conservative and seemed like he was just playing just to keep his job. My only criticism is when Phil got so full of himself he ran the program in to the ground. He should have gotten canned 2-3 yrs before he did. Then politic-ed his way into the AD position, another disaster.

I asked a high character, high standards Arky fan who follows the program closely, and she insists that Petrino is a changed man.
For him, for his players, for their parents, and for college football... let's hope he is.
He’s definitely mellowed out some and doesn’t berate players in practice or anything like that anymore but I still don’t think he’s an easy guy to work for. He just demands you do things his way to perfection. One of the biggest concerns with making him the full-time HC would be his ability to attract a good staff around him no matter how good of a playcaller he is. Both of his coordinators at Missouri State were family members.

Send me that lady’s contact info. I’ve got a bridge I’d like to talk to him about.
