2026 Lady Vols Recruiting

From what we think we know - BTW, good reminder, KnoxLikeUs, about how suddenly some of these signings materialize - there are a half-dozen possibles, of which we might sign one, or two. Three? I don't think so, unless we manage to sign a six-four/six-five Freshman. We're losing six-five, six-four, six-four, so, "position-less" or not, this forces Coach Kim to portal at least one veteran Big.

Unless, we were to somehow sign six-four Sara Okeke. I have only YOU and a few videos to go by, so I'm neither smilin' nor counting chickens. But, by the way she hustles and runs fast and forever, elevates to block or put back; her high finish. Talk about a player lab-built for Kim Caldwell's system! Anyhow, from just watching those videos, and with all the talk of her possibly turning pro, I was of the belief that she is 22-23 years old. She turns 18 next month! She will be very good, wherever she goes. She would thrive in Knoxville.

So, there are two - Miss Okeke, and Brihanna Crittenden - of whom, whether we sign either, neither, or both will determine if we take other '26es, or how aggressively we must work the portal. Either sets us up with the probable '26-'27 roster. With both? We hardly miss a beat. The development of Lauren and Deniya will, of course, also influence the thinking. Quite young as a group, but high-potential players.

Roster projections have changed over the years and you can’t foreshadow what the needs of the 2026-2027 roster will be until you get closer to the spring transfer window or perhaps later into the summer.
I think maybe you are saying these are things you expect to materialize and the hypotheticals you stated as “we think” will happen based on results not mere speculation have been consistent under Coach Caldwell who has signed or received a commitment from 15 players in just 19 months.
I don’t think classifications are as important as in the past with the transfer portal you have options to add depth, experience, talent, and target players to fill areas of need which is how CKC landed 6’5 and 6’4 forwards both former McDonald’s All-Americans that enter the transfer portal unexpectedly.
Coaches know things about recruiting the portal that fans and the public don’t know about until it becomes official. Every thing we discuss of substance has already been planned for in-house. That’s the beauty of this staff keeping things from leaking and just going to work building an elite roster that in a short timeframe is ranked #7 according to ESPN heading into year 2.

Here is the list were still in on who will be Lady Vols? Jerzy Robinson is the wild card expect she goes to an Arizona school, but she still is mentioned with Tennessee.

Risacher isn't even considering going to school in US and I don't think we have been involved with Jerzy for a long time. I'm pretty sure it's LSU, SC, UConn and maybe Oregon... but I don't think we are in active recruitment of her.

And we need a reminder of what and why?

So be it. I don’t think every move or retweet a prospect makes is important.
You have a lot of prospects right now that probably won’t have a great impact on the collegiate level using social media to promote every single visit they go on because of recruiting channels and message boards posting their every move online.
Programs will sign 1- 3 sometimes 4-5 HS players annually and then turn to the transfer portal.
All this HS recruiting drama is futile.

I don’t think Coach Lazo post had anything to do with this recruit or Baylor.
First off this stuff about the kid canceling the visit came about a week ago. I still don’t believe it. Just because the prospect doesn’t post photos that doesn’t mean they aren’t on a visit.
We never saw Janiah Barker or Jersey Wolfenberger on campus before committing but both were part of the #1 transfer portal class of the LVs according to ESPN.
Also, since then there’s been social media posts with the recruit engaging in considering Tennessee as one of their Top 5 teams. The 2027 recruit that is visiting this coming Monday plays for the same OT Select program.
Baylor has never and I mean never been able to stop anything when it comes to Lady Vols recruiting from Jewel Spear, Jasmine Powell, Deniya Prawl the list goes on… if a player doesn’t pick Tennessee due to negative recruiting from Baylor then you hope that player ends up at Baylor so to speak.

I don’t even know why this is a topic, but no freshman G is moving the needle for Tennessee. That needle is already positioned after they signed 3 McDonald’s All-American guards in 2025 plus 4 ⭐️ guard Mya who could guard any 2025 or 2026 guard 1 on 1 right now.
Some of you watch no film. Study no basketball. The things you post just don’t add up.
Some of these players would have to fight just to get in the Top 10 rotation with Oliviyah Edwards and the portal class.
I don’t think it’s right to include Crittendon in these convos. The kid seems to be doing it the right way. I respect that regardless of where she ends up.
