I am not bothered by it. Fraud cases often involve discussions of the sufficiency of the evidence of “intent to defraud.” Jury instructions acknowledge that intent is rarely ascertained by direct evidence, but by circumstantial evidence.

In such situations, it is very common to have differences of opinions between prosecutors as to the strength of the evidence, with some believing there is enough evidence and others believing there is not.

That is why we have grand juries. That is why we have trial by jury. That is why I am not bothered.

These two sentences from the article seem especially significant:
Trilogy Metals, will receive a $35.6 million "investment," the Trump administration announced on Monday. In return, the federal government will own 10 percent of the company

Paulson owns 8.7 percent of Trilogy, and his shares are now worth more than $100 million, up from $30 million yesterday.

Looks like the math says 1 percent is worth about 8M (pre announcement bump). The federal government is getting 10% (worth 80M) for 35M.

After the too big to fail bs, Solyndra boondoggle, and the like all I can say is at least this time the investment looks good.

Looks more like Trump threw Paulson a bone and used federal money to pump the value of the stock up for him.

Somewhere you lost your safe space plush toy. There is a lot to dislike about Trump especially on the personality side, but he is made for this moment. Part of this we see from him is fighting against a deeply corrupt, immoral, unethical establishment. We see it with the attempts on his life and manufactured impeachments.

Yes, he can be more small government, lower spending, less intrusive but Trump is intent on not letting leftists pull what they did during summer of love 2020 when the democrat party urged violence to help win elections.

I equate it to the misguided right wing folks who have gotten confused about who is the good guy and the bad guy in the Israel and Hamas conflict. Simple, Israel is the US ally, the others are terrorists. One group took thousands of lives, beheaded people and paraded half naked dead girls through the streets. Yet because Israel strategy is not agreed with they turned terrorist sympathizer which is a goal of terrorism in the region. These folks may as well be leftist protesters.
