Snark aside, he did not need to sabotage Pittman. It is my impression that Pittman got an extra year or two because he is so well liked across the league but they were wanting to get rid of him for a while.

I am not buying that at all. They lost close games they could have won against Ole Miss and Memphis. The ND game just got away from them and the contest was over by half time. They are what they are.

I do too BUT you also run the risk of alienating players loyal to Pittman so there is a chance it could backfire
