Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

College football will not survive in its current state and the more fingers in the pie, the worse it'll get. These sponsors are going to want something. *like changing TBA to the Food City Center.

The current state of college football/basketball..... the conferences make no sense, officiating is terrible/corrupt, and lifelong fans are getting priced out of their seats. And prices are still going up. Some jerk will say "but there's a waiting list for seats". There is here but what about these other schools across the country that are struggling to keep their sports teams. It sucks and you know it

GREED IS KILLING COLLEGE FOOTBALL (and basketball.... to a lesser extent)
Officiating has nothing to do with corporate greed, it's been corrupt/incompetent for a long time in the SEC.

Prices are not going up for tickets at places where there are no waiting lists. Have you seen Vandy prices skyrocket (from the school, not talking about resale). If there is a waiting list and schools are selling out, they will charge more. If they're not selling out, they'll charge less. You really think schools that can't sell out the stadium are raising prices anyway?

Which of these schools struggling to keep their sports team can trace that struggle directly to corporate sponsorships and/or greed? Do you have any examples?

This doom and gloom about CFB is 100% emotional and 0% logical. Ratings are amazing, parity is better than it's been in ages, and kids are not being illegally prevented from making money while fat cats in school admin get rich.

A logo on the field or uniform isn't going to torpedo the sport anymore than it has F1 or soccer, arguably the two most popular sports in the world.
