I think one of the issues is that TN fans forgot what real coaching looks like. What development looks like.CJH’s buddies rock
We have the number what scoring offense on planet earth again? Number one…? Damn that’s so cool. I guess lesson learned hire your buddies
Too bad mine are all idiots
I’ll take Sanders over the mediocre five year guys after he plays just a few guys. Always take talent over experience. In the thread some mention Pendleton a ND starter. He lost his starting job when they got healthy. He is ok but not one of our best OL this year. Just happy that in some cases, we are finally getting more talent and playing some.Nobody thinks it takes time to develop OL. Everyone with a functioning brain KNOWS that it takes time to develop a an OL.
Bingo^^^^We had a DL taken in the first and second round of last year's draft.
We have 21 sacks this season (tied for first in the SEC with OU) compared to UGA's 7.
We have four defensive lineman who are top 10 in the SEC in sacks. Georgia has one player in the top 10 and it's a LB.
Maybe we could sell that to recruits?
Correct but Sam started like 9 games for a unit that was one of the best regardless. It's no coincidence that all those guys transferred out to play and they are what they are record wise right now. It's not like he just filled in a couple of games. He started as much as anyone on that OL beside Aamil WagnerI’ll take Sanders over the mediocre five year guys after he plays just a few guys. I’m not clear on what you mean by the second sentence. If talking ND, their record is not an indicator of how good they are. I’d bet it does by end of year. They broke in a young QB and lost on a forth down conversion at the end to TAM a top 10 team and on a very close game to Miami, maybe the best team in the country, at Miami. Their defense may be slightly down but their offense is better.Correct but Sam started like 9 games for a unit that was one of the best regardless. Yeah they ran for 3.4 yards per carry in those games...I’m not clear on what you mean by the second sentence. If talking ND, their record is not an indicator of how good they are. We are recruiting and developing DL just as good as Georgia if not anyone in the country.Matt also said Rivers has blown up this season and is probably about 6'5 1/2" 280 lbs now. I'm sure Georgia wants him but we typically hang onto guys like that. I think a lot of fans either forget or do not realize how often we've gone head-to-head with Georgia on prospects and beat them the past few cycles.
Georgia has started to show more attention to 2026 defensive line commitment Darryl Rivers, and we are keeping an eye on this one to see if anything comes of it after he visited Athens for the Alabama game.
There is always some concern when a recruit visits another school, but Rivers has been a priority for Tennessee for months, including the summer, when the Bulldogs slowed down on recruiting him and opted not to bring him in for an official visit.
We will ultimately see if that matters long-term or not. He tells us he plans to return to Knoxville for the Oklahoma game, and we will continue to watch to see if any more trips to Athens are in the works.
