Pittman was probably dealing with a lot of crap and got tired of it.
The minute that Petrino step on campus he was going to get his job back and it was quite obvious Pittman was ready to retire.
The tell tell was that Petrino fired the Defensive staff.
Undercut 40%, planned 60% is my take on it. It probably was discussed before Petrino arrived and went into effect the day he arrived. Pittman was probably aware of it from day 1.

Agree, this sounds more like Arkansas donor interference than actually Petrino himself. Petrino probably tried to work with Pittman.

I think Pittman knew his days were numbered. However, the offense this year has been humming. Patrino has had them in a position to win against Ole Miss and Memphis offensively. The defense lost some talent from last year and just looks lost. Patrino had no effect on that until he took over and fired them all.

Pittman hired him. You are always responsible for the choices you make. No reason to feel bad for his situation. It was probably as good of a situation as an OL coach could have hoped for in capitalizing on his coaching abilities. If he had stayed at Georgia, It would take him 20 years or more to make what he has made as the HC.
