Let me know when you retire. We(my wife and I) have a great network built for info on relocations. We currently are engaged in a project to build a massive no-kill, resort shelter for dogs and cats. A place where they can thrive happily, regardless of whether or not they are adopted into a forever homeI will be retired very soon as well, and my wife and I will be spending much of our time and resources on animal rescue/rehab as well.
Kudos and glad to "know" you.
Ah, now I see, you must be talking about my time incarcerated. It wasn't for years so it didn't click. But time is time.Hey, maybe all you guys can get together and tell me I'm Hitler. My guess is you didn't use your time wisely.

i lied through my teeth when they asked me if there was any ungloved contact with them. Those little assholes crawled all over my arms and shoulders, thought my long hair was another coon and cried like the world was ending if i left their sight.Same happened with us with some baby opossums. But it was also rewarding to release them back into the wild.
What area of the country are you in? I network with some local people. We mainly deal with farm animals, we used to run a rescue for senior and special needs farm animals but had to scale way back. But when animals need a place they find us. We don't turn anything away, we find a place somewhere with people we trust.Let me know when you retire. In my experience they do not want to spray you. I've had to chase a few out of our barns and I've been with 2-3 feet and never got sprayed.word to the wise, skunks always knew when i was drunk and let me chase em around the yard without spraying me
i think they understood I didn't mean no harm
Both Southern Middle and Upper East Tennessee. We provide resources to the entire country though. Usually underwriting moves from one part of the country to another. What area of the country are you in? I network with some local people. We currently have 8 cats and 3 dogs, 45 goats, about 30 dumped roosters, 20 hens, a few rabbit and down to one horse. There's a few feral cats that live in the barn we feed as well.
So, how's the leprosy?i lied through my teeth when they asked me if there was any ungloved contact with them. Those little assholes crawled all over my arms and shoulders, thought my long hair was another coon and cried like the world was ending if i left their sight.

And honestly I reflected more on the type of person I was/wanted to be. I used it to put together why I was the way I was, things I could do to make my life easier, and things I should stay away from that made it difficult for me.
You see I focused on me, I wasn't looking around for things to piss me off (horrible way to do time..... that will get you killed), or try to attribute blame to someone or something else for how my life was going. I spent it on me, so yes, rest assured I spent it wisely.
I have been much more successful in life since. We bought a farm about 8 years ago and started a rescue, then the economy turned after COVID and we've struggled since. But I love that struggle, we care for our animals and will for as long as we possibly can. I'm happy, although I still struggle with mood swings I no longer trend toward violent outbursts under extreme stress or confrontation, I'm a better human being.
Thanks for the sincere interest in my life's circumstances.
