absolutely not
In a sense, Hobbs, Moi and Eason are clearly our best DT’s, especially stopping the run. This can lead to us being more sound in run defense and can free our safeties to be used in pass defense so that we dont have to leave a true freshman on an island at bama

I just think on the road @ bama I would rather have McCoy the first round corner. Bama's run game is sub par this year. Horton, Germie, and Williams pose more problems.

Why does everyone act as if McCoy not returning faster from ACL surgery faster than NFL pro-bowlers, is somehow him "holding out". Yall have gone certifiably insane to expect that. Trevon Diggs (comparable as he is also a CB) took 10 months just to return to practice and he was still eased into games early on. If he returns this season, especially if he somehow returns in October, then it will be a pretty incredible recovery. If he doesn't, y'all need to drop this idea that he is holding out to focus on the NFL, because the average NFL recovery time from surgery to return to play is 12-13 months based on a study done in 2021. Below is the top 5 fastest recovery times that i can find based on a quick google search (I'm not gonna deep dive this more than a quick search)
  • Wes Welker (Patriots)
    • Surgery: Feb 2–3, 2010 (reports place it Feb 2 or Feb 3) → Week 1 game: Sep 12, 2010
    • Interval: ~222 days (~7.3 months).
  • Jordyn Brooks (Seahawks)
    • Surgery: Jan 19, 2023Week 1 game: Sep 10, 2023
    • Interval: ~234 days (~7.7 months).
  • Rob Gronkowski (Patriots)
    • Surgery: Jan 9, 2014Week 1 game: Sep 7, 2014
    • Interval: ~241 days (~7.9 months).
  • Adrian Peterson (Vikings)
    • Surgery: Dec 30, 2011Week 1 game: Sep 9, 2012
    • Interval: ~254 days (~8.3 months).
  • Joe Burrow (Bengals)
    • Surgery: Dec 2, 2020Week 1 game: Sep 12, 2021
    • Interval: ~284 days (~9.3 months).

Here is a link to the study done in 2021. It was done on RB's and WR's but I would think CB would be even harder or at least comparable to return from ACL surgery so i think it correlates, but I honestly dont know which way it would skew since CB's dont take the beating RB's do. You would also probably need to slightly adjust for age difference as older players recover slower and the study likely used players in their mid 20's (between 23 and 29, based on what i can find).

Return to Play Rates in NFL Wide Receivers and Running Backs After ACL Reconstruction: An Updated Analysis - PMC

Feel free to read it and disprove me as I didn't read the entire thing in detail, but I think most people would agree that if he returs this month, it would be an incredibly fast recovery for ACL surgery. My overall point is that we need to stop attacking our own players and accusing them of selfishly abandoning their team.

It's because AP has said things about his "camp" wanting him to hold out for the draft.
