Israel vs Palestinians II

You get that Palestinian or Palestine is a slur that means “Jew”

Right.
So on your ancient maps they’re talking about Jews

This political cartoon, published in The New York Times one day after the establishment of the State of Israel, captures a pivotal moral reversal in world history.

On one side stands “Palestine”, symbolizing the reborn Jewish nation, sword in hand. Opposite him is The Grand Mufti, depicted in a Nazi uniform, an unmistakable reference to Haj Amin al-Husseini, the wartime Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who collaborated closely with Hitler’s regime, supported the extermination of Jews and later led Arab resistance against the new Jewish state.

The caption, “Not like Dachau, is it, Herr Mufti?”, cuts like a blade. Only three years after the liberation of the Nazi death camps, Jews who had been hunted and slaughtered in Europe were fighting back - this time against those who had sided with their oppressors.

Northwestern is forcing students to take an antisemitism course to register. Students are pushing back saying it conflates antizionism with antisemitism and they're unable to enroll becauseof their refusal.

All the people who decry indoctrination at universities will surely object to this, right?

I'd have to see the what the course consists of.

Antizionism can be antisemitism. Yes some conflate it with antisemitism but some antisemitism is disguised as antizionism.

There are people that hate everything Israel, many will tell you as much and that is a form of racism.

You may be right.

I have no information to contradict. I also have not looked into it with any sort of depth. To be honest, I don't find the issue that compelling.

I will look into it if you want, though.
It's if course completely up to you how to spend your time.

If it facilitates better understanding, I am willing. If it is a sidebar squabble, I'll probably pass.

Gotta get my '24 taxes to cpa before the deadline.

171 additional provocateurs from the Hamas–Sumud flotilla, including Greta Thunberg, were deported today from Israel to Greece and Slovakia.

The deportees are citizens of Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, the UK, Serbia, and the United States.

All the legal rights of the participants in this PR stunt were and will continue to be fully upheld.
The lies they are spreading are part of their pre-planned fake news campaign.

The only violent incident came from a Hamas–Sumud provocateur who bit a female medical staff member of Ketsiyot Prison.

Don’t believe the fake news they are spreading.

Attached are photos of Greta and other participants in this PR stunt at the airport before being deported.

No wonder the fake-aid Hamas–Sumud flotilla rejected all the proposals from Israel, Italy, and Greece to peacefully unload the aid for Gaza in one of the regional ports: after checking all the ships and yachts of the flotilla, the total “aid” we found amounted to barely 2 tons across 42 vessels.

This amounts to less than one-tenth of a single aid truck!

For comparison:
• A single aid truck entering Gaza carries about 20 tons of aid.
• Around 300 aid trucks enter Gaza every day.

The Hamas–Sumud flotilla was nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Two tons of aid and 450-500people on 40+ ships.......... if that's true this was just a little Mediterranean holiday cruise.

They would have consumed many times more in supplies in that time. This wasn't about getting supplies to Gaza, it never was.

You should look at the list of states that recognize Palestine. Why do you wish it didn't exist?

I’m sure lots of countries have it wrong.

It doesn’t exist, never has existed and the people who would populate an independent nation of Palestine have never shown the ability to self govern or live peacefully.

It would be another failed state supporting terrorist

You have every right to be critical.

Northwestern has every right to run their university as they want.

Of course. Why are talking about this instead of the point?

BTW, Trump doesn't believe that about Northwestern.

The course also includes Islamophobia and anti Arab sentiment. It’s pretty telling which part makes the news and gets accused of controlling America

What are your thoughts on it?
I think mandatory stuff like this is kind of dumb, But it makes sense to include antisemitism in your anti-racial bias course. I don’t have an opinion on the actual video as I didn’t watch it, but I did read it states youre not expected to endorse what’s in the video and that even Jews aren’t in agreement of the content of it. Just something else for people to twist and be outraged about

I didn't watch it either, but based on the article that's kind of what I took from it as well.

I remember two years ago around midnight hearing news about the attacks in Israel right here on Volnation. That thread no longer exists but like so many newsworthy events going on in the world, a lot of us first discover them here before anywhere else. At that time it wasn’t clear how bad the atrocities of October 7, 2023 were. But it’s a day none of us will forget. Thank you to everyone on this site, I appreciate you regardless of your political stance.

Yes. Today is 7 October. Time to contemplate why this thread was necessary in the first place and to assign blame 100 percent where it lies (hint: it isn’t Israel)

You can’t even pause your hatred for one single day to remember the 1200 innocent Jewish civilians massacred on 7 October can you?
That is really disappointing
They weren’t “massacred”, they were “genocided”, at least, that is what happened per the definition of genocide.
