@n_huffhines why don’t young QB’s succeed?

Ridiculous. I heard an interesting comment the other day....if Kyle Shanahan can make any halfway decent QB look like a $35m QB why isn't he making $20m+ a year? The guys who really truly make a difference are not getting paid like they do....and it's money that doesn't go against the cap.

What is funny about this year is the 49ers finally got Mac Jones. Remember they had him neck and neck with Lance going into that draft.

Took an injury for Shanahan and Mac to finally get a pairing, but they look legit. Purdy was just a pleasant surprise. I'm still shocked they gave him that contract. Like Lamar, he wasn't going to get "big money" in free agency away from the team that drafted him so I'm somewhat surprised there wasn't a lesser deal made. Same thing in Purdy's case.

Pull up a chair and I’ll tell you about that time I watched that playcalling genius blow a Super Bowl when he could have literally taken a knee for most of the 4th qtr and gotten a ring.

Mac Jones is a good fit for the Shanahan system and it’s kind of funny that he finally ended up playing for the 49ers.

Tua is another example of a team bidding against itself and overpaying.

So you think of him as the young OC who made a bad call in 2017 rather than the guy he's proven to be for the last 8 years?

People play the results too much on this one. He gets way too much blame. If he let the foot completely off the gas and they still lost (which was likely because it was Tom Brady), then people would be killing him. Matt Ryan cannot let the Hightower strip sack happen. Shanahan trusted his guys that got him there and it didn't work out.

You’ve clearly underestimated my ability to hold a grudge.

It's the most painful SB loss for me ever, and I'm not even a Falcons fan. One of my closest friends does tons of community work and lives a modest life because of it. He's the biggest Falcons fan. I arranged a gofundme and we seriously raised $4k to send him. I was riding so high vicariously through him through 3 quarters. I still want to puke thinking about it.

I don't think Mac is a bad QB at all. Perfect game manager type for Shanahan.

Like at this point if they keep winning, gonna be hard to go back to Purdy and have that issue.
