Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Almost like it’s intentional, huh? I mean they’ve had us listed to go to Kentucky at night every year. It seems like when the schedule comes out. Why does that game have to be at night? Kentucky sucks. Play it at noon. Why couldn’t the Georgia game be at night? That was a perfect game to be a night game but we can’t make anything any more difficult on the poster child.
Initially the expectation across all media was we would be average and Florida would be elite. That’s why LSU Florida got the night game and we got the 330 kick with UGA

Just my opinion

There’s a reason the SEC has a reputation that every Big 10 team fan endlessly tries to refute looking like a hobo begging for change. Nobody says the same about the Big 10. The rankings reflect it, even when they put pretenders like Illinois and Indiana up there for no reason. It’s just sad at this point.

Take your L and your medicine and shut up Stool. Unless you’re an OSU fan, and even with them before last year, there’s not much argument to be had. Period.

I don't get the narrative that because the medical staff hasn't cleared McCoy yet, that means he's not playing at all this year. I don't understand why anyone would assume that based on that simple development. Everyone says the kid is doing everything he can to get back.
he has to practice first. those thinking he won't play are just being little weezers

Heupel talked like McCoy isn't close to returning. He sounded like he was pumping the brakes.
Then we roll with Hood and Redmond, who has played about as well as any of us could have hoped, and he's only going to get better as the season goes on. McMurray to back them up, and he has been steady for us, imo...certainly at the 5th spot at corner.

Some may disagree, but we have great depth there, CB. An All-American and All-SEC at the ones. Hood comes in, on his way to being an All-American; then the freshman, who I believe is going to he a player for us. I keep saying, he had great coverage on UGA TD...took a perfect throw and a push-off to beat him/us. McMurray goes to outside if one them goes down. I would think. Could be wrong.

Don't twist it, I would LOVE to get McCoy back, another playmaker in the secondary we desperately need, along with Hood. I believe McCoy is the best corner we have seen in 20/25 yrs, that's how much I want him back. But, I believe we can sustain that better than we could have if Moi and Hobbs couldn't return.

Reading this reminds me why Heupel is so good. He understands the business side and will play the game. But....when you play here (even if it's a short time), he will treat you well and love you like a son.

To be honest, all of our coaches do this. Both Barnes and Vitello demand excellence but are player's coaches, too. It is a great time to be a Vol fan.
