Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

The 30-06 is a high caliber weapon.
The bullet " the part that kills you " is around 3/4 of an inch in length.
Now take your thumb and forefinger, place your thumb just to the left of your Adams apple. Your forefinger on the back of your neck. Now look at your measurement. About three or four inches of mostly soft flesh getting hit with a high caliber round.
I still think we should have an exit wound.
Hopefully at some point in the next three years we'll see an autopsy report to clarify all this.
Thank you for the civil discussion. I'm stepping away from the forum for a while to take care of normal daily activities.👍
I'm kinda bumping into this in progress as I've been away for a bit and just don't want to read up. If the angle of trajectory was such that the bullet entered the neck and the proceeded down through the shoulder/clavicle and broke apart and or just into the area of the vest which would have stopped exit at that point pretty much regardless.

I've not followed this closely enough to do more than speculate about the above but the bullet path after impact would be the primary issue regarding expectations for exit. (along with bullet construction)

You mentioned vest. Was CK wearing a bullet proof vest?

I would think he would wear a vest for sure, however if you look at any still from that event it appears he is only wearing a t-shirt.
They make some amazingly light/thin things now that can be effective for penetration against most "normal" pistol rounds. (impact trauma would still be no fun at all)

Of course that doesn't mean Ck was wearing one. I was surprised that was something that is apparently still ambiguous at this point. At least on a quick look around.

Hard to know if outrage is warranted without knowing the purpose for the fundraising.
I’m not outraged. I feel bad for her loss. But I think the GFM just said "For Erika and the kids".

If ppl wanna give money that’s their choice. But she has plenty. Just struck me as a little indecorous.

I can understand that.
I know from experience net worth is not always liquid and easy to tap. There is also a delay between death and life insurance payout. Not trying to justify but also not going to incriminate.

What about Grok, lol? They're trying to make it right wing but then its real world training overrides every time and it becomes "too liberal."

The reality is that the world (that these AI bots train on) is more liberal than you.
none of them are actually checking facts right now. they are running down whatever the most popular/numerous hits are and presenting that as if its fact. it may be, but on the internet that is a dubious, at best, claim.

basing "reality" on what is most popular on the internet is going to provide incredibly slanted results, whether that is right or left.

they shouldn't be trusted, because there is nothing there to trust. they don't always have actual sources; even when they have sources, it often misquotes/misrepresents them; it sometimes just flat out makes up sources.

Ya, that’s about right

Idk. He was reportedly worth 15 million. I’m sure had a nice insurance policy. Seemed grifty to me.

Seems pretty gross to accuse someone of grifting without having any details at all about the situation and without knowing if she even set up a go fund me.
