Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Mike Vrabel is one of the best coaches in the NFL with what he has to work with getting everything out of them, as a Titans fan it’s great to see him doing well and definitely not unexpected. Titans ownership with Amy Adams is a total joke.
I dont disagree about the titans ownership being a joke, but I mean cmon Vrabel only went 13-21 and missed the playoffs in his final 2 years here, so it’s easy to see why he was fired

LOL. Sark ain’t hitting the hot seat. He brought their program back from the dead and had them in the sec championship game and playoffs in his first year in the SEC.

I do agree Texas can win that game though, but would bet on OU if Mateer plays.
You had the most touted recruit in quite some time sit for two years to supposedly learn the system, only to look as if he’s gotten worse with each game and not better. You’ve spent upwards of $20+ million on a roster only to do nothing with it. You made one of the worst Florida teams in recent memory look like the Urban Meyer teams of old. And if I’m correct, he’s 2-2 against their fiercest rival, Oklahoma.

TX fans are not going to accept him trotting out there and getting manhandled by OU given what this team was supposed to accomplish this year. If he loses, he is most definitely going to feel a hotter seat than he has been.

Floridas defense is no joke
Lucky we play them late
Hopefully their will is gone when we role into Gainesville
I feel more confident in us winning in Tuscaloosa then Gainesville

I think this Florida team is nowhere near the worst they've had in recent memory. We still need them to lose more and fully collapse before we head down there..

I’m sincere in saying that I think both TN and Vandy beat the Titans in a friendly. I think TN Tech would even have a chance.
There is absolutely no way any college team, even the best, is going to compete with even the worst NFL roster. They are grown men in the NFL and they do football at the highest level for a living. Think middle school vs. high school.

He was 7-3 in 2022 before injuries completely decimated that team. Not him, injuries. Who is winning with a decimated o-line, banged up Tannehill, Malik Willis and right off the street Josh Dobbs? Still almost won the division with a literal practice squad. One win away from the playoffs. Tannehill was done in 2023 as the Titans core had been destroyed by Jon Robinson, injuries and age. It's absurd the level of "what have you done for me lately." He was fired because he wasn't a yes man to Amy Adams.

My guess is that Arkansas strategy for this Saturday will be to get a two score lead early and then hope they can go score for score with us the rest of the game. I would expect some trickery on their opening drive and if they do score on their opening drive, I would expect them to try and onside kick right after.
I heard an interview with Petrino and he said their strategy was ... WGWTFA.

Bama to No. 8, I’m sorry, but beating any Candy team at home is not impressive.
Well I guess almost losing to Vandy at home is impressive. I was really hoping Candy could pull it off. DeBoer's presser Finebam would have great. Deboer would have been in a coma, he's already as fired up as campfire in downpour.

I’m with you. There is something about Gainesville and it’s a tough place to play. We need a noon game and for the first quarter boys to be in full effect.

That game is always a weird one. But if I were to bet on it, I’d say OU covers but Texas wins outright. OU hasn’t been truly tested and TX is pissed off. If Sark loses that game, there’s a good chance he’s on the hot seat, especially with how this season is currently going.
Sark or Arch on hot seat….

At some point Sark has to say Arch ain’t ready to save his job

Truly shocked this actually once existed AND that the college teams actually won ANY games.

Though I will note they were using all Americans, so all the best college had to offer. But against the Super Bowl champs? Not bad rookies, not bad.

The NFL of today is not the NFL of the 30's, 40's, and 50's. The NFL actually took a back seat to college football in those days. Football is the only major sport that began in college. It wasn't till the sixties that the NFL became popular and primarily in the north. Today even a college allstar time would lose to any NFL team today, simply on size, strength, and speed.

Thats a loser mentality. Why wouldn't you want to play them at their best and crush their dreams?

Right? I want a W while watching a great football game between two talented, motivated teams.

We only get 12-15 games per season as it is. This is why I’m pumped for the 9 conference games and the schedule that awaits.

We don’t get that option of a noon game down there. It’s funny how all of our away games are either going to be a late afternoon game or a night game. They have already guaranteed Kentucky to have a night game against us, and I’m gonna bet Alabama’s a night game, and then they’ll probably get Florida a night game as well. However, there’s only one game left on our schedule that could possibly be a night game and that’s Oklahoma, and they have us in the flex within an afternoon game. They’ll probably make us play 330 against them which means no night games at all for us. Danny will be livid.

This game really does give me the heebie geebies. Only bc its after an off week. I couldnt give a **** otherwise. Conventional wisdom says it Neyland, and we roll.

Arkansas always, always forces us to slow down to an ugly game. Really think we keep it sort of close, closer than many think.

Im updating my prediction.

Vols - 70
Arkansas - 20
