Yeah, itâs been a dreary season, but at least weâre avoiding this.Just relieved we arenât going 0-17.
And Simmons is only 28. He still has 4-5 seasons left of his prime. Derrick Henry was 30 when we let him walk and he's still one of the best RBs in the league to this day.Difference with Simmons is the age at which youâre trading and the state of the franchise in the moment.
Brown was only 24

Stop trading elite talent for a draft pick that may or may not be half as good as the guy you just cut loose. Keep elite talent home. Jmo fwiw
I stand by my statement. Jeffrey Simmons should be a Titan until he is completely washed or retired. Stop shipping off the very few elite talents they find.By the offseason (when youâd trade him), he will be 29. So thatâs 5 entire years older than Brown. That makes it a significantly different move.
Yes? Henry was 30 and our team was still really bad with him. Bad football teams shouldnât be spending high end money on RBs.
Am I wrong too, or were you not one of the people defending the horrible Brown move when it happened? Insanely enough several on here did.

And I probably did defend the AJB trade at the time, I don't think any of us realized the ripple effect of that trade. The trade itself was horrible, but the guy they drafted to replace him was even worse.
Because first and foremost I'm a fan. It's why I defended Butch Jones, Dooley, and Pruitt to an extent. At some point and time I think we all said enough is enough but at first you just roll with it because you want it to work out.A lot of released he was the best WR weâve had in decades. Maybe in team history
What was your reasoning for defending that trade? To me it seemed obvious that we were unlikely to replace such a high end guy. Just like if we traded Simmons for the 16th pick, the odds that guy is as good or better than Simmons is really low

AJB had some prima Donna tendencies and at that point in his career was banged up a lot. It is what it is. He's not banged up much these days because he hardly ever gets thrown to.
He was. I also think our QB play at the time made him seem more expendable than he actually was. Plus we had the best RB in the league. It's just unfortunate we couldn't have landed Olave or Garret Wilson to replace him or hell, anyone worth a damn. I would have settled for Tyler Smith or Karlaftis. Hindsight 20/20 though.Maybe he did. Idk. But on the field, he was an absolute Juan Jennings style dog

He's on a bad team trying to make plays. His big knock on him in college was he played Hero ball a lot.
I don't see that all. I see a QB who has largely had to play behind an OL that doesn't give him much protection and then throw to receivers who are among the league leaders in drops. While being led by a coaching staff that might be the worst in the league at offensive scheming. When he's allowed to do that he can make things happen, good and bad. But it seems like when he's asked to play within the confines of a system he's frustrated and bogged down. Sure it doesn't help the he's on a team with no elite or top tier offensive weapons, but I wonder if he can put it together within a system.
I don't understand this. Titans almost need to go 0-17 as hopefully that would be the gutter enough for Strunk to have a wake up call.Yeah, itâs been a dreary season, but at least weâre avoiding this.
0-17 wouldâve been absolutely horrendous. If we can snipe a few more wins and still get the #1 pick, wellâŚ.. hey, at least weâll be able to look back and say âit couldâve been a lot worseâ lol
I agree. It's not just his level of play. It is what he does that gets the rest of them focused and playing better. He brings it every game.Said it a million times now, letting our best talent walk and trading away elite players is what got us here. Trading Simmons would just be digging the hole even deeper.
This is what I see as well. Some of the drops and misfires are from not yet developing chemistry and being on the same page. Unfortunately, this system is nothing special. The players are going to have to do it on their own. Cam's passes get on you quick as a receiver and there is insufficient pocket time frequently. The receivers have to be ready and know when and where to sit down or drift into the open to help him and themselves.I don't see that all. You may be right but when he's been allowed to go tempo and play in his comfort zone he's been much better.I don't see that all. If we keep Simmons, who is the best IDL in the league, we owe it to the team to find a productive DT AND a LB who can rush the passer, too. Simmons gives you such an incredible opportunity to be a special pass rushing team. But he needs people who can take advantage of the opportunities he creates. I assume Sweat returns next year as well. This is what I see as well. Some of the drops and misfires are from not yet developing chemistry and being on the same page. Learning curve with Cam. All go through it. Which ones actually learn from it? If he does - he has every throw, the creativity, the mobility, and the leadership quality you want.
That is also why I want to keep Simmons for at least two seasons unless injuries become a thing. He is the dog of interior D-lineman in the league. That sets the tone for all of them on expectations.
