This one makes me nervous with the defensive issues we've had this year...I think we are going to have to score a LOT to win this game...Petrino is going to throw the kitchen sink at us.

Imo we are going to need 40+ to win this one..

Unless the defense finally shows up big...which is entirely possible.

I’m with you. Less than 30 won’t get us the W. Arkansas always seems to have our number and Petrino is auditioning to be the next HC. The only reason I’m slightly confident we pull it out is because it’s at home and Heupel is pretty successful with games immediately following a bye week.

don't start this please.

no better way for me to procure a mattress and kerosene after watching other teams play and we take an off day.
Don't think we'll lose. Just crazy to think that it has been 18 years since we won in this series. That was one of their better teams too with McFadden and Jones at RB.

I really really hope this isn't the game where everybody is just...OFF...a little and can't score like we should against a crap defense at home...

Every offense, even the best ones, typically have a game or two like that every season...and this would be a horrible week to do it.

One of those games where a whole bunch of stupid little self inflicted drive killing things happen...plus the season long crappy opponents defense suddenly unexplainably lucks itself into playing like the 86 Bears for that one game of the season...

You know those games are coming, they always happen...if it does happen we are going to need the defense to finally show up for once this year or we will get beat.

I’m hoping we had ours two weeks ago against MSU. But yes, I certainly hope we don’t have a repeat of that mess!

I hope so too...that was a weird game, it really could have easily been a 3 TD blowout for us...they got so many breaks it was crazy that they didn't win when you actually think about it.

Thank goodness our defense made a couple of MASSIVE plays, and Joey decided to go Boss mode and pulled it out....we need them to do more of that and the offense and special teams to not screw up so much...and the officials to not do their weekly screw Tennessee over thing.

Don't understand the concern over this one. If the Interim HC was named Robby Petrone no one would think it's much of a game. Petrino has BEEN calling the Offense, which has been pretty good against below average competition. The Defense is terrible and learning new adjustments to their system. Half of the players are gauging their portal value. Usual fast start will lead to a blowout.

We apparently get everyone’s best game so I think this will be another tight one. Taylen’s ability to improvise and extend plays doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies against our defense.

I hope so...I really really hope so...I was feeling good about this until they fired Pittman, now I don't feel so good about it...I have a feeling they are going to be really energized by the change.

don’t let ucla psu get in your head

Our defense is going to be as healthy as its been all year long

Our offense is humming at levels only rivaled by ‘22

The guy who lost us the game last year isn’t playing for us anymore

Joey football is road proven and seems to at this point to thrive under pressure

We are in Neyland

I know all that...I also know this ain't like the old days..records mean literally nothing until the end. You can run into a really talented 2-4 buzzsaw and lose your &$$ any given weekend.

We are going to have to adjust our thinking to this new era of CFB or we will get a terminal case of Institutional Fahritis every time we have a season a few breaks don't go our way.

We easily could end up anywhere from 11-1 to 8-4 with this year's team...the record means nothing when it comes to the actual quality of the team...they are a really good team that can beat anybody imo. Heupel and staff have built what is a annually very competitive program and that is what I wanted and expected, to do that first and then work on becoming a real elite team with very few or no holes....which imo is still a few seasons down the pike, but it will happen imo if we don't lose faith if we don't finish this year off great, or have the results everyone will expect next year.

We are in a kind of seesaw pattern right now if you know what I mean...one year the defense is loaded, and then the offense the next year...but at some point I think the roster will get to a even out spot where we can truly not just compete, but be a favorite for the NC....that can and will happen if we don't lose faith and go toxic. Imo that will undo everything.

The only thing about this game that concerns me is how much the unknown plays in to it. They're pretty much in 'nothing to lose, everything to gain' mode and petrino knows what winning this game would do for his chances of getting that job...

That said...I think that may keep it closer early but I can't see them stopping us consistently. And we'll get more stops than they will.

I think it's important to note that Heupel had only lost one game before a bye in his history as a coach before the Nico/ARK debacle last year. And that loss was by 1 point at Memphis when he was at UCF. The other games have typically been blowouts or big wins.

Add that to Josh is undefeated in revenge games....Feels like a blowout is afoot. We are a well led talented and resilient team.

Can't wait for Saturday's bloodbath!
