Parity has arrived

Watching MSU fall off of a cliff against aTm in the second half and it’s starting to look like OSU, Miami, aTm/OU (maybe) are the strongest teams this season.

The rest of us, to date, all seem pretty even which suggests it’s going to be a tight fit into CFP slots 4-12.

Parity has arrived. Good news is we can play our way in with OU and Bama to go. Going to be interesting.
Oregon might deserve an honorable mention.

I haven't seen anything from Fla or OU that says they are better than us. Im not impressed by Fla beating Texas because I dont think Texas is very good. OU hasnt played anyone. There defense was elite last year and it didnt stop us from chocking them out at their place with an anemic offense. If we can score 40 on UGA i dont see how Fla or OU will stop us. Bama is the team to circle because of the level Simpson is playing at. And they wont stop us either. We just have to figure out how to slow Simpson down tbh.
Florida's defense held Texas and their 3 running backs to only 15 yds rushing all game. Florida rushed for 159 yards and Lagway threw for 300 yds. He could not run the ball because of an injury. They got their best receiver back for that game and he had over 100 yds receiving in the game.
I heard national pundits saying all week that Texas had the superior defense going into the game and Florida put up those type of numbers offensively without a Lagway that could run the ball.
Beating Florida in the Swamp is not going to be easy.

Beating Uf in the swamp and bama in Bryant Denny are equally challenging. Simpson is National Offensive POW. I can see our secondary trying to stop that passing attack.

No sec game is easy, every week is a different animal. Folks that act so matter of fact about any game one way or the other is just not very wise. GBO!

I have never thought from the beginning of this season that beating FL and Bama at their place would be easy. I was starting to think we could finally end the swamp curse but its not a given. Do not see a win at Bama. T-A&M looking like a serious player now.

Parity is here for sure. I kind of think we got lucky with the timing of it all. If it had to happen like this with NIL it happened at a good time for us. We’ve been through some tough years and the donors and fan base are ready and willing for some big wins. The whole cyclical thing, our time was just now rolling back up. Then to hit the ground running with some early NIL/transfer success we can just build on that and maintain a spot near the top longer than teams usually do in the circle of life chaos. I hope

We will lose to Bama, Florida and possibly Oklahoma and don’t disregard Vandy they are plenty good enough to beat us. I had us going 9-3 in the off season and i think that’s where we will land when it’s all said and done, just outside the playoffs looking in.
Don't elevate Florida just yet. That was a trash offensive and defensive line that Texas had. We will get a better Idea this week end when they play A&M. It appears that A&M has a strong defense and average offense. Will be interesting to watch.

Hood is better than Gibson. McCoy is rumored that he may be back for Arkansas. Same with Hobbs

I personally only care about McCoy. I trust Redmond more and more as he is getting this valuable playing time at a very young time in his career. McCoy Redmond Hood would be very welcomed group

OU does not stand a chance in hell winning in Neyland. Quit the cowering and fearmongering.

Do you just want to be right? Seriously there is no way you could have anticipated whether the offense with JA would be good or not. They key for every team in the SEC it to remain healthy and not lose key players.

None of those teams you named are better than us and unbeatable if we play solid football and limit errors.

Our defense is one of the worst in the league so far. And injuries are no excuse for it being that bad, we should be middle of the pack at worst.

I see 2-3 more losses unless they improve dramatically.
How many defenses have 4 tds in 5 games and lead the nation in sacks? Yall gotta relax with how bad the defense is… been a lot of empty yards put on them in garbage games but they are very disruptive and not bad… they can definitely improve but we are in the top half of sec defenses..

Or on the other side of that argument has it given up to many points n caused us to be in dogfights at the end of games when scoring 40 should’ve put it away?
Scoring 40 only puts the game away when u play at last year's pace. The pace we play at increases the volume of scoring on both sides. In college football, teams score on 30-40% of their drives on average. We score 50ppg. When u score that much, as quickly as we do, u give the opponent more possessions. MSU had 15 possessions for example. The national avg is around 12 possessions per game. Realistically, u can get 9 stops on defense out of 15 possessions and still give up 40. That 6 out of 15 which is 40%, is still scoring what the average team would score on 12 possessions. If they're possessions were national average at the same scoring rate, they would only have 21 points max.

Personally, I believe MSU was worn out from the UT game and going against aTm was just too much in one week...jmo, not sure if Auburn put up a fight.
