Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

UCLAs new offensive coordinator/playcaller only had 2 days to practice and prepare for Penn St. They hung 42 points on them...and PSU defensive coordinator might be the highest paid in the nation at ~$3M per year. Absolutely scorched them in regulation with inferior athletes. The new guy calling plays forgot to pull his headset down before calling plays a couple times including a pivotal 4th and 1 play late and Nico had to improvise. It worked 😆

PSU offense has 2 RBs that will play NFL ball. Both may be gone this year. Their RBs only ran for 15yards. Their QB ran for more yards than them. This was an abysmal coaching job by Franklins staff.

**also Pavia apparently got into an altercation with Bama fans who were heckling him after the game. When you talk unprecedented amounts of trash as an SEC QB...expect to hear about it when you not only lose but fumble the ball away AND throw a pick BOTH inside the Bama 10yd line. I hope if any UT QB ever talks as much trash as him that the rest of the team shuts his mouth for him. Going on national TV and saying that " if we execute then this game won't be close" at Bama is just stupid.
If Heup and Co are the coaches i hope they are, then yesterday provides a platform to hammer focus, preparation, and respecting every opponent's ability to beat you. Arky has had more than two days to install a new game plan and Petrino is very experienced.

Petrino was already there too and had a hand in the offense which will be good IMO. The entire defensive staff was fired though unless I am confusing them with UCLA so hopefully we can hang 40 or 50 points on them.

I tend to think their defense will either be very simple "keep everything in front of you" or I'll "go for broke" with an aggressive but risky plan. I expect our O line to take care of business though.

Agreed.
I bet we see Nickel and maybe Dime playing Zone. Try to keep everything in front of them. So we need to run more than we have been vs those lighter boxes and get chunk plays. Bishop is by far the best blocker at RB which is why he starts...but Star Thomas is the only RB that has been a threat to take it to the house consistently. He is faster than the other 2 with the ball in his hands and has great balance. I love Bishop but understand why many people say Star should be our starting RB. We have fallen in love with the pass with Joey...understandably because he is so good there leading the SEC in passing yards and TDs for 5 games...but we cannot be a 1 dimensional offense like we were against MSU for most of the game and beat the best teams. Time to get the running game tuned up AND the running defense shored up, here in Neyland before we head to Gump Land. Thankfully i will be at the game with my daughter this weekend and will do my part.

I know Ive been yapping about this guy more than 5* keys or anybody else in the 2026 class...but check out the fastest VOL next year Legend Bey. On the 1st play from scrimmage he takes this one 75+ yards for a TD. On a QB keeper
Lmao. He just needs to catch the ball man. ALL FOUR WRS coming in next year probably play NFL ball. I mean that. If yall think Tyreek King or Salesi Moa arent great I suggest you watch their tape too. Keys gets all the press but man. Wow. Legend is #7 blue

Individual player rankings are not the end all, be all but coaches are judged by fans on where they finish in the team recruiting rankings every cycle so to say rankings don't matter at all is foolish.

It's frustrating when one particular service seems to drop players once they commit to UT (On3):

- G Mac was a 5 Star before committing
- David Sanders was No. 1 OT before committing
- Faizon was No. 1 QB before committing
- Keys was No. 1 WR before committing

Moa, Wyatt, Rouse and Hezekiah Harris all dropped in the updated rankings today as well.

Quoted here because I know many here dont read much recruiting forum. I don't read it all..too much to keep up with.

I am so sick and tired of this BS though man. I know how loaded our classes are especially 2026..but this crap gets SO old. Our recruits drop regularly especially the highest rated ones AFTER they commit to UT. The same guys commit to UGA and climb the rankings. Its ridiculous

Got home from celebrating a friends birthday, so i didn't get to watch much football, but I knew what happened. I was flipping thru late at night trying to find something worth watching, and one of the shows was covering the Ped State UCLA game, and I watched that. My fiance' asked why I was watching that instead of a live game.

I spent 15 minutes explaining why nothing good should ever happen to Ped State or James "Covering Up Rape" Franklin. it might have been 15 legit minutes of non-stop beratement, and at the end she says "ok, you don't like them, I get it now."

Thank you.

It just now dawned on me that the same punchable-faced coach that covered up his players involvement in the Vandy rape case has been the head coach at the official Pedo State University which covered up boys being sodomized in showers for decades. From assistant coaches who literally and figuratively turned their heads, to an AD leadership that knew and covered it up...Penn St will forever be known as Pedo State to those of us who witnessed them hanging Joe out to dry while trying to absolve themselves of culpability. Just disgusting, in every sense. I already couldnt stand Franklin, and never liked PSU but always thought Joe ran a classy and clean program up there...not having players last names on jerseys was cool etc. For them to hire Franklin right after that crap with Sandusky and company is unconscionable to me.

***let me add that Ohio State is just as bad or maybe worse than Pedo St. It just wasnt really the football program as much as all the wrestlers with a few other athletes sprinkled in. If you havent watched the documentary on Ohio states team doctor raping and molesting male athletes then you should. At least PSU eventually took responsibility. OSU handled it about the same way as michigan handled getting caught cheating last time. Lawyer up, deny deny deny...settle lawsuits out of court with strong NDAs. Garbage behavior from a garbage University in a mostly garbage state

That looks frightening.

Sounds that way too. If Hell is an actual place , rather than eternity separated from God in endless mute black space as some surmise; i bet there are tornados in Hell. I was 12yo in Charlotte when Hurricane Hugo made a beeline from Charleston northwest and the eye hit us directly. We had 120+ mph winds and the sounds were similar to that video. Then the eye passed over our house and it was dead quiet for what seemed like about 20minutes before the fury began again. That was our 1st year in NC. At least we got out of school for 2 weeks because nobody had power. Had massive block parties because everyone had to empty their fridges and freezers since the food was gonna go bad anyway. All the manly men in the neighborhood who had chainsaws went and helped everyone who did not. I drug a lot of limbs and brush to the street with them for days. No money ever changed hands that I saw. People helped people. Because it was 1989 and thats what people did. I am still that guy. Just older and uglier. Still try to help neighbors with whatever i can, especially the elderly. There are others like me, right here in this forum. I am not special or good. Seems like there were a lot more of us back then, most folks were kind and helpful. Not as much these days IMO.

I had a roof ripped off the 3br house we had as a business office, by a microburst, on the east side of Houston years ago when I was inside it, 1983 or 84. Yes I was a sinner!

Paterno knew for decades and was able to use his power to keep it under wraps and handled internally....

Other than Sandusky, Paterno was the biggest scumbag here...
