Polls keeping us out of the playoffs

Not to be disrespectful to anyone, but right now the polls mean diddly! Win some games against a higher ranked team and you will move up. Lose 2 more games and you make it easy for them to leave you out of the CFP ! Motivation for the team Just Win Just Win!!

My point was....we have yet to beat a ranked team...so we really don't have much to stand on. Beat Bama OR OU and then Vandy and THEN we can talk

We keep hearing how the AP/ coaches poll doesn't matter.
For those of you in that camp do you believe the AP poll has zero influence on the playoff poll?

Let's revisit this when the CFP comes out. I imagine they will look very similar for the top 12.

They always have - there may be a few oddities but generally the top 12 or so are the same - just positioned differently.

It does matter because there is influence that will happen with these poles you can bet on it.
When the college football playoff poll is released I would imagine that the AP top 12 and the college football playoff poll top 12will be almost entirely the same. There may be a little flip flop of 11 12 and 13 that'll be about it.

Do you think the first playoff poll will look much like the last poll? I don’t think so, so I don’t worry even about the first playoff poll.

And I don’t think seeding matters that much, either. One team in the playoffs will win every game it plays and will be champion. The rest will lose the last game they play.

Just win, baby. The rest will take care of itself.

I think the first playoff poll and the AP poll at the time will be very similar.
I think the last playoff poll and the last AP poll will look very similar.
I'm in the camp of getting the highest ranking as soon as possible and maintaining that position. I'm not over here freaking out about It I just believe the AP/ coaches poll will influence the CFP poll. They mirror each other every year.
If there's several 2 loss teams I want to be ranked as high as possible before the CFP poll is released.

My take is that almost every team will lose at least one game in between. So the deck will get shuffled. The key is to minimize…or better yet, eliminate…losses. That is how you get shuffled to the top.

Wasn't a great win, btw. It was the yearly Tennessee makes crappy team look away better than they are game. It was a win. That's great. But it wasn't a great win.

Actually idk if we would. Look at what they've done to texas. They were preseason #1. They lost to Ohio State by a touchdown and then lose to Florida now they're unranked. Idk if there will be a path even if we beat oklahoma and alabama but lose to a team like florida.
