I sincerely hope you are correct, but my optimism is not there yet. The only weak sister in this league is KY. Everyone else is a threat. Our D is getting better, but injuries can take a toll.

No one said they were terrified. Not sure where you're getting that.

The discussion was are they the best team and deserve the #1 ranking

They're defending champs and haven't lost yet.

Easy choice for #1

People are saying Bama and OU are our toughest games remaining on the schedules and are toss ups. No they are not.

Bama will be, but we will be favored in every other game on the schedule. The OU game is not gonna be a toss up game after their schedule the 3 weeks before we play them.

Cowards.

From what I

From what I understand, Gibson isn’t coming back this year and McCoy is a mystery. Look at how many 3rd and longs that secondary has given up.
Hood is better than Gibson. McCoy is rumored that he may be back for Arkansas. Same with Hobbs

8-20 on 3rd
180 passing
5 sacks
14 points scored on defense
That was our defense against Mississippi State last week.
Yes! Thank god for the defense scoring or a terrible Mississippi State team beats us last week. We are not even close to a playoff team right now. If we get some guys back on defense, I can see us going to a really good bowl.

If you think are 12 teams in the country better than Tennessee, i don't know what to tell you

We had two TDS taken away by the refs and dropped another one...we are tons better than 95% of the teams out there

Man GTFOH. This team is better overall than last year. Finally had a chance to beat Georgia in the final seconds of regulation and couldn't make a field goal. Sure, our defense isn't as good as last year but it's far from bad and makes up for getting gashed some by making huge plays. Our offense is light years ahead of where we were last year too and Aguilar is a baller. You're either a real downer at parties or just a troll if you think we're losing all those games. Especially Oklahoma at home. We ain't losing that game. If you know anything about Heupel you know he gets extra motivated and has his best games against certain teams and coaches. He has an axe to grind against Oklahoma and has a deadly offense this year with a capable QB. Don't be surprised if we don't run Oklahoma out of Knoxville with a lopsided azz kicking
Buddy, we ain’t running any of the SEC teams left on our schedule out of any stadium. Especially OU and their defense.

I don't know if there are any super strong teams this season. It's pretty open.
Absolutely agree with this. I don’t see a totally dominant team in the country like Ohio State last year or Georgia and Alabama of years past. Everybody has flaws and can lose on any given day. And I think it’s going to continue.

Yea weren't you the one predicting us to go 8-4 or 7-5 this year...
Nah I honestly don’t get into the prediction threads. Kind of a crapshoot until you see everyone play. With that said I think 9-3 is about right. 8-4 not out of the realm of possibility if we drop one we shouldn’t.

Let it hurt your feelings if you’d like but as a whole we aren’t on the same level as those 4 you mentioned. Offensively I can agree with you. Defensively is where we fall to the next tier.

You don’t know what will happen. Just enjoy the games and pull for your team and let it play out. We can compete with anybody. It’s all about taking one game at a time and playing complimentary football. GBO

It doesn't hurt my feelings at all, we are one of the best teams in the country and will be in the playoffs yet again.

I think getting in with 2 losses this year is tougher than last. People seem to forget we had a week late in the season where absolutely everything we needed to happen to sneak in did happen.

I agree. Kiffin nailed it the other day when he said the dynasty days are over. Teams are not full of guys playing together for three or four years. The model just doesn't work. Clemson is the perfect example of square-peg in a round hole. We are in a era were the best teams are the teams that tranform every year instead of holding it together.

Even closer to the NFL model where the only thing that will keep guys together for 3 years is cash and titles...and cash gets you titles.

For some reason our fans cant seem to understand that our defensive numbers are over exaggerated. We are not nearly as bad on defense as they seem to think. When u score 50ppg the opponent is going to get the ball way more than a typical game. MSU for instance got 15 possessions on offense. The national average is around 12 possessions. I think we had 9 stops out of those 15

We will lose to Bama, Florida and possibly Oklahoma and don’t disregard Vandy they are plenty good enough to beat us. I had us going 9-3 in the off season and i think that’s where we will land when it’s all said and done, just outside the playoffs looking in.
I haven't seen anything from Fla or OU that says they are better than us. Im not impressed by Fla beating Texas because I dont think Texas is very good. OU hasnt played anyone. There defense was elite last year and it didnt stop us from chocking them out at their place with an anemic offense. If we can score 40 on UGA i dont see how Fla or OU will stop us. Bama is the team to circle because of the level Simpson is playing at. And they wont stop us either. We just have to figure out how to slow Simpson down tbh.
