Pennheel I just realized you are partially a UNC fan. I agree this was always a bizarre, gimmick hire.

So just reading the Tarheel board did he go on a recent vacation with the girlfriend?

Yeah, a big Carolina fan. I joined this board mostly because the most of the family are Vol fans and I couldn't find a board as good as this for UNC. Plus,my family has rubbed off on me a bit as far as watching Tennessee.

As far as Belichick, it's probably the worst hire I've seen Carolina make in football in the last 25 years, and theres been some real stinkers out there. Yeah, theyre saying he went on a vacation to the Hamptons this past weekend with her from what I've read. I dont think that he really cares about Carolina at this point. Hes wanting to take his big check and ride off into the sunset. I think this was done to get his son a coaching job and I think that's going to be just as bad.


Its just bad and it's not going to get better. They may win 1 or 2 the rest of the year, but I doubt it.

Having lived in Charlotte for 32 years...I also approve of them sucking. Hope the 2 players dumb enough to choose UNC over us because they offered more money enjoy sucking too. There is nowhere in NC near as good as Knoxville. Period.

UNC fans are in a desperate situation. Don't they have to hire Steve if they fire Bill?? I'm not sure how that works. Anyway they can't fire him. Don't have the money.

I saw some national writer suggest James Franklin could leave on his own accord since PSU can't fire him. Think about that for just a moment: James has a guaranteed 56 million dollars if PSU fires him at any point prior to the end of next season. What school would be willing to buy him out, whatever that costs, and guarantee him even more money than PSU stupidly gave him? I hope some school does, honestly. They will get what they deserve.

That can't be the explanation. Surely Bill had enough money. He apparently attracted a 24-year-old girlfriend (who's probably his handler) BEFORE he got the UNC gig. What did he need it for? I get wanting to stay busy but there are far less-stressful ways to do that. W picked up painting. Surely Bill could slap some paint onto a canvas.

Something very strange went on in North Carolina that led to all of this drama. I don't know what it is. Probably not possible to know. But it just doesn't pass the smell test.
