Parity has arrived

Watching MSU fall off of a cliff against aTm in the second half and it’s starting to look like OSU, Miami, aTm/OU (maybe) are the strongest teams this season.

The rest of us, to date, all seem pretty even which suggests it’s going to be a tight fit into CFP slots 4-12.

Parity has arrived. Good news is we can play our way in with OU and Bama to go. Going to be interesting.
Tennessee is as good or better than OSU., Miami, A&M, or OU..

We will lose to Bama, Florida and possibly Oklahoma and don’t disregard Vandy they are plenty good enough to beat us. I had us going 9-3 in the off season and i think that’s where we will land when it’s all said and done, just outside the playoffs looking in.
just stop with this nonsense, it makes you look dumb

Disagree. i might give you A&M and OU but Ohio St and Miami are better and more complete teams than Tennessee also have better defenses as well. The season is still early and will be defined in two weeks at Tuscaloosa if we beat Bama then i will start entertaining the idea that we might be better than Miami and Ohio St. i’d take Ohio St by 5 points over Miami right on a neutral field. I would feel much better if we had the defense we had last season.

yes the Ohio St team that almost lost to Texas...super better...
Yea i know the score was 14-7 but they pretty much dominated that game really , though , considering it was the first game and they were breaking in a freshman QB along with a new OC and DC it was a pretty stout performance. A good bit of talking heads including Finebum was picking Texas to beat them. They are the team to beat until they aren’t.

I don't know if there are any super strong teams this season. It's pretty open.
Home field matters but I think we are a lower tier top 10 team on neutral field. It definitely makes things more interesting w more equality in teams. I mean in one year msu went from horrible to very respectable

People are really terrified of OU. I don’t get it.

Cowards.
I don't think people are "terrified" of any one game left on our schedule. I think there are some of us that take a more realistic view rather than assume the Vols are going to win every home game plus beat AL & FL on the road because they are both "garbage" this year. Vols are plenty capable of winning or losing any SEC game left.

Heupel doesn’t lose home games to schools not named Georgia. And we are averaging over 40 points a game. So either OU is gonna show out on offense in Neyland or our offense is gonna lay a goose egg. Both won’t happen. Tennessee should handle OU easily. Especially considering the gauntlet they are gonna face before coming to Neyland.

Playing at Kyle field instead of the land of cowbells matter too. Do you think Nico walks into happy valley and beats Penn State? No chance. Winning on the road is hard

No one said they were terrified. Not sure where you're getting that.

The discussion was are they the best team and deserve the #1 ranking

They're defending champs and haven't lost yet.

Easy choice for #1
