Exactly. Bama is going to be very challenging and Florida too. Then there's OKie. Need to get 2 of 3 . The way Ty Simpson is playing,. Bama is looking like a playoff contender. Worry about winning games, the ranking will take care of itself.

WTH qualifies her to vote anyways? Like some AP voters in the past didn't even rank UT in their top 25 when they were ranked in the top 12 in the Coaches Poll.

By rights, with wins over FCS teams and losses in their only FBS games, they shouldn't sniff the top 25, but because of the inane "preseason" rankings that had them at #3 based on the return of a QB that has yet to beat a good team in his career, they'll likely still be in the mid teens.

You are correct and wrong. Yes, the committee ranking is all that matters for the playoffs. However, the committee ranking won’t be radically different than the AP and coaches poll by the time the committee rankings hit. I find it difficult to believe that the committee isn’t influenced to some degree by the AP polling at that point in the season. You can believe that or not.

I can assure those cowering that “we are gonna get screwed if we don’t move up the rankings this week” in a poll that has no weight on the playoff standings that are still 4 weeks away from starting are morons and clowns.

Choose to be overdramatic and paranoid if yall wish.

But worrying over a meaningless poll that has voters ranking teams like a game and on “vibes” is a weird choice.

It had to happen one week that one of these bad teams that fill their schedule would finally punch overrated Penn State in the mouth , and UCLA and Nico were the ones. Wouldn't be shocked if they lose again before the Ohio State game.

Agree that its really silly to worry about polls.

We go 10-2 we are in the playoffs. Period.

We go 9-3 and we probably sit home like Bama and Ole miss did last year while teams we could truck make the playoffs from the Big12 Big10 and ACC.

Thems the breaks as they say. 10-2.

Next year we go to 9 conference games but most years a 9-3 SEC team is NOT gonma get in over 10-2 teams from lesser conferences that only play 2 ranked teams all season. While we play 5 or 6 ranked teams including 2 ranked in the top10 pretty every year. Its not fair. Never will be as long as other conferences like the Big10 and ACC only have 3 or 4 schools that recruit in the top 20....while 5 or 6 of the top10 recruitimg classes EVERY YEAR are in the SEC.

Not sure how much better PSU could do? Maybe they come snag another Vandy coach? They're kinda like UT. They've got a ceiling that they're just not going to break thru and a fan base that expects them to do it every year. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see them raid Nashville again. That would please me greatly.

To me, that's the way of all football. PSU fans and administration better change their goals if their goal is to win a Natty. They would be way better off to just stay like they are than to wander in the wilderness like idiots. Your chances of winning a Natty are way better if you just try to string together a decade or two of 10 win seasons. Likely you get lucky somewhere in there.
