Down goes overrated Iowa State (14) to Cincinnati. (Bearcats are a good team, btw)
Down goes overrated Penn State (7) to UCLA. (showing the difference a good coach makes)
Down goes overrated Texas (9) despite the idiotic clock management of Sunbelt Billy. (Arch Manning gets picked more than a third grader's nose)

Vandy did its best but we know who the best team in Tennessee is.

All in all a good week without having played a snap.

How many spots up do we move?

Should be number 12. Could be higher depending on the evening games.

UCLA looked energized with the fill-in coach. I expect Arkansas to play inspired ball next week as well. The decision to replace the defensive staff was probably a good one since they had given up 129 points in their last three games (Ole Miss - 41, Memphis - 32, and ND - 56). This will be a good challenge for our guys on both sides of the ball. Need to have a rocking Neyland.

Which scares me about us going to the Swamp. Fla's D is elite and we haven't won there in 22 years. Texas may not be the only UT to catch an L at the Swamp. That game scares me to death. Another reason the Ga Loss was a killer. We aren't going into Tuscalooser and winning, so that's 2 very possible Losses. We've gotta find a way to win atleast 1 of those road games..Both places we haven't won since '03.

The early polls don’t matter and ain’t worth worrying about. What matters is the CFB poll and the number of teams with two losses …. Getting Penn state and Texas and hopefully FSU out of the way helps GREATLY!!! (And go Cowbells!!)

This was a VERY good day for the Vols - and our staff is out recruiting their tails off as I type this too!

If you don’t believe the playoff committee looks at the AP Poll leading up to their initial rankings then you are naive 🤷‍♂️

If Miami wins, Texas Tech wins, and Texas A&M wins, no higher than 12.

If Miami loses soundly to FSU but Texas Tech and Texas A&M win, probably no higher than 13 (FSU would probably jump above Tennessee in that case - if FSU won soundly).

Coaches and AP have already predicted TN to stay at 15 jumped by Florida

We didn't move up last week covering on the road In a conference game and #' s 2, 3, 4 and 5 lost... and we sat stagnant at 15, I see no reason the little 10 loving AP will move us up being idle. Should have been 12 last week
