So flying the english flag is now racist.

I can’t help if the data is provided with obvious left wing bias. The academics have to provide their nonsense excuses such as “over policing”. One of the biggest lies of all times.

If black neighborhoods in the US were “over-policed” their homicide rates wouldn’t be so outrageous

So you cite biased data?

Well done.

Lol. I'm guessing you haven't traveled abroad too much since the invention of the smartphone.

It's become leagues easier to bridge language gaps in the past 15 years alone.

I have no doubt it has. But we still aren’t there yet. For now language barriers exist and matter. If you want citizenship, assimilate

Anyone doing research on racial disparities and crime has to add in those claims. Otherwise they’d never get their research past peer review. So they have to add editorialize and pretend the issue is poverty, overpricing, etc.

But the truth is even when you account for these factors, massive disparities still exist.

We should 100% be more selective in regards to how allow into our country

You'll get no argument for me on the last point.

However, you're digging to Wikipedia for citations. I think your desire for peer reviewed, unbiased premises stops and ends there.

How did they become citizens without being proficient in the English language? I think its perfectly reasonable to expect someone who has been in the US for 5 decades to speak English in public. What they speak in their home is their business.

I know the standards for immigration used to be lax even in the early 1900s...but in 2025 if you can't speak English by the time your visa expires or when taking the tests to be a naturalized US citizen then you can leave because becoming an American clearly isnt a priority to you. Theres hundreds of TV channels speaking English 24/7. Theres plenty of language apps to help you learn. There are English as 2nd language classes...and over 300 million English speaking people surrounding you every day to practice your English on. Speaking our language is not an unreasonable expectation. Maybe you havent noticed but we have plenty of people already in this country. It isnt " come one, come all". Its "do you have a valuable skill or service to contribute to our nation?". Can you assimilate to our language and customs? We arent following the WEFs plan for the destruction of Europe over here in the US. At least not under Republican leadership.
Acting like English is a requirement to be American when we've never had an official language is stupid as hell. There are probably millions here who don't, it's just an excuse to harass "foreigners" yet again

It was chat gpt to be specific, but regardless of source, you will find the same outcomes.

And you're so ready to believe the opposite? Do you think there's little to no enforcement bias?

We disagree, but I don't consider you yo be stupid. I know that beyond fortifying your hill, you can't put the utmost trust in law enforcement in any country to be an institution of pragmatism.

I can't try and understand monolingual people demanding a bilingual requirement of others.

Lmao at that liberal BS in both.

"Muslims are 3 or 4x as likely to be in prison in UK...5x or 6x as likely in France...but we KNOW it isnt their fault because of the racist sexist Nazi white patriarchy. "

Marcus, I firmly believe the truth most often lies between two belligerent extremes.

These are people who come from countries rife with squalor, poverty, and violent ways of life. I don't doubt they are perps of coming from a place with those symptoms.

I don't think the contemporaries of the religion err to violence. It's a product of the people and places they come from.

I also believe the possibility of inherent bias in law enforcement.

Not far enough to require English fluency this late in the game.

If we want fluent English to be the standard, then you can go ahead and deport half of the South.

Conversational/functional English isn't an unreasonable expectation. I speak Spanish all day long when talking to my guys at work...because thats the only language they understand having not been here long. Its not unreasonable to expect them to reciprocate and speak the language Americans understand after theyve been here several years or want to become citizens. Its just common sense and courtesy.

No, I don’t believe enforcement bias is a real issue. In the US for example people will often make this same nonsense claim regarding things like drug law. But when you look at things like homicide rates, you still see similar if not worse disparities.

They always have to add these nonsense qualifiers even though none of them make the disparity go away

I agree. They certainly arent genetically predisposed to commit crimes. Nobody is based on their skintone/race. Why allow them to come then? Why would you willingly allow immigrants to come to already overcrowded Western European countries when they are known to commit crimes at 3x to 6x the rate of citizens...often with the citizens themselves being the victims of the rape/violence? If there was a labor shortage in these countries or we were talking about doctors or computer geniuses from Asia or India then it makes sense. Why would any sane government allow thousands of these people into their country and then immediately put them on the public dole? Its suicide. Suicide with no logical reason to even attempt it. The WEF and UN are intentionally destroying Western Europe. The leaders in the UK, France, Germany and Scandinavia should be tarred and feathered or locked up in prison. Every single one of them who votes for this BS. They can't be that stupid or oblivious...so its treason. Subterfuge.

I have some mixed feelings on this topic. All my wife’s sisters came to TN from Thailand years ago after my wife and I got married. Some sooner than others. All of them speak English fluently and have assimilated just fine and are living that American dream. My FIL and MIL have been here for almost six years now. They can’t speak a lick of English and will most likely never learn it. They are getting up there in age as well. Luckily they have us around to speak Thai with them and assist with certain things they don’t understand. I know outside of learning English that they have had no issues with adapting to the typical American way of life.

Really? Just fine? Not too mention the fact that we’ve been a nation less than 250 years.
One day America is the greatest country in the world blah blah blah, the next day we've been barely scraping by. If we haven't been fine then no one has, and Spanish speakers are nowhere near the "problem" regardless

Look wherever you want, we have always been a melting pot and non-English speakers being an "issue" is completely fake and manufactured

It’s true with most immigrants. My grandparents struggled with English. That’s completely different than young people that refuse to make any effort, they get a pass in my opinion.

My FIL is semi retired as well and has people back in his home country handling the day to day operations of his business. He just wants to spend his remaining years near his kids and grandchildren.
