Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I could be mistaken but my memory has me thinking he was Pruitt recruit. Signed and then dismissed by heupel early on in first year after a weed charge. Lotta potential, Texas kid. But very short lived time with us. Not sure how long he was officially on the roster if at all.
One spring

The one in my mind:

Charlie Garner
Jamal Lewis
Alvin Kamara
That's about as good as it gets. All 3 were/are studs in the NFL, too. Jamal being one of the 10 greatest RBs of all time; and, Alvin is one of the best all-purpose backs to ever play the game.

Johnnie Jones
Chuck Webb
Cheese, would be a great room, too. Throw in Travis Stephens or Jay Graham or Dylan Sampson.

I would love to have seen LaMarcus Coker in Heupel's offense.

I don't believe he ever gets in, but Jamal had HOF talent. I believe he's Top 10 all time. As far as numbers AND talent...name me another back, just one, that was on Jamal's level that was 245 pounds, had his speed, and had his shiftiness and ability to break tackles?? Ill wait. No one, maybe ever.

Career just wasn't long enough. Injuries and prison, not to mention all of the carries. He WAS Baltimore's offense. Him, that's it. They don't win the SB without him, no matter how great the defense was.

Alvin should be first ballot, imo.

Amen. Something I’m trying to work on. Volnation is my only social media and I’ve been convicted for a while for making combative posts. Trying to be more patient and give more grace in real life too.
It's a path all of us have to walk I think, my brother. The willingness to admit your faults and work on them is all that is required of us. I try and make sure I am improving in some way every day. Constant growth. Because that is why we are here. We wouldn't feel so divinely pulled to do it if not. I am trying to practice not reacting. I used to think I had a divine duty to correct everyone who is wrong about absolutely anything. Every problem in the world was my responsibility to fix.

I have learned to just let people be wrong! Rarely ever are you going to convince them of their wrongness. I think it was Socrates who once said, "I cannot teach anyone anything. I can only make them think." Others have to find their own paths to the truth. I am doing much better at this but still have a long way to go. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you're trying to do and send love your way. It's the highest calling we have to improve ourselves.

Has anyone else seen the behind POV of the 4th and 4 catch by Brazzell?!

Dude had hands on it, lost it completely...not even a finger on the ball...all while floating away from it, then somehow reeled it in while rotating 360 degrees...in traffic. Honestly, he bailed out JA on a poor pass thrown behind the receiver, but DANG what a magical catch in slow-motion.

I'd never call a straight-up skillful catch "lucky" but the guy is so good he can do things that make it feel it is.

Dude is a DUDE!
Did you not see how great a play Joey actually made to even get it near Brazzell?...that was freaking awesome...he had to wait for CB to clear the first window and threw it into the second window...it was a a great play.

Dang you guys say dumb stuff sometimes...it was a great play on both ends.

He has a ton of room to improve, glad he recognizes this rather than burying it like the diva QBs.

Waaaay too many high passes, behind his receivers, etc. Tip drills or not, he's already up to 5 INTs, which no Hype QB has gone over in 5 years here. Obviously you accept the tradeoffs and he's been a massive boon to the program, but he has to correct his main issues if we're going to make the playoffs. This defense and run game isn't going to carry us again. A lot more on his shoulders and he seems up for the challenge.

God bless JA!!
Of the 5 ints...how many are actually on him?...one or two...maybe?...and one of those was basically a punt.

Why the heck are you criticizing him so much? Nobody throws perfect passes all the time.
