Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I know. Just ready to have the best, and to beat the big three.
I believe we are right there. Not quite there, but just on the cusp of being one of the top 5 programs in the country, and sustaining it.

I keep in mind, just 5 years ago where we were. I believed it would take us 8 to 10 more years to get up off the ash heap, and back to respectability. The greatness of Josh Heupel sped that up tremendously, and has us on the brink of top 5 way ahead of my schedule.

Another one I needed. Prayers for anyone struggling with their mistakes or failures.

October 3, 2025:

To the many of us who are tired of screwing up and making mistakes: No one is perfect. Even when you strive to achieve perfection you will fall short of the goal. The end of your endeavor is humility, which is not a bad thing, says the Lord, because you are learning to lean on Him and put your trust in His leading. James 3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

Question: greatest RB room?

Jamal, Henry, Stephens

Garner, Little Man, Hayden

Just now came across it...Charlie Garner is struggling with CTE, also. Breaks my heart.

"I don't have all my faculties anymore," Garner said. "I can't remember things. When I go to the mall or grocery store, I have to take one of my kids with me to remember where the car is parked. I have trouble remembering conversations I had five minutes ago. Bright lights bother me. I just don't feel right all the time."

Wish him and Jamal all the best; and, all the other former Vols that may be suffering with it.
Jamal, Henry, Stephens + Bryson

Best RB core ever at UT.

I bet it's Alabama, it's been posted on here numerous times...
To make it even worse, he is a former quarterback for them! Steve Marlowe is another head ref that is an alum of Alabama. If there are two head referees that went to Alabama, I can guarantee you there are other ones. How they have been able to get away with such blatant, cheating, and corruption is beyond me!

Long answer to that.

Historically, no. Until recently. I always dismissed red flags in people and would scoff at my wife when she'd say she got bad feelings about a person.

Then life changes and things start hitting the fan and she was right every. dang. time.

Then I'd argue "but what about X?! You've been wrong about them!" and sure enough... given time she would prove right.

And I began to realize that I had suppressed those gut instincts because I had been gaslit by several people and bad relationships when I was younger. When I knew people were lying to me but couldn't prove it at the time and they'd always explain it away and call me paranoid. I began trusting them and suppressing that gut instinct as my own "paranoia."

I listen to it now, and when my wife and I have met new people together afterward I've double checked with her and we almost always get the gut instinct about the same people. I had it the whole time and suppressed it.

Listen to your gut. Saves you trouble.
You’re going to need a lot of it moving to DC lol
