Per Locked on UCLA. Team Nico back shopping

My point is, we can't go away shouting about how bad other conferences are when SEC teams lose to them on the field. If we want to say SEC SEC SEC, perhaps don't have games like Alabama losing to FSU. It is also not like Alabama is a chump SEC team, they just beat Georgia.

I heard the same crap about the B1G last year when Ohio State dismantled Tennessee and Texas and the B1G had more playoff teams and playoff wins. You also had Michigan beating Alabama in a bowl game, Illinois beating South Carolina, etc. You can't say you're better and lose to them.
IIRC the SEC is 4-2 against the ACC so far this year. you don't need to be perfect against the other teams to be "better" than them. and it goes beyond a single year too. I don't think anyone will really challenge that the Big 10 was better than the SEC in 2024. but if you are making a general statement about the conferences you aren't going to look at a single year, a single game, or a single team.

and as we saw with Ohio State last year, things can change during the year. They lost a close one to Oregon, and then blew them out in playoffs. the year before Ohio State got crushed by a middling Missouri squad from the SEC.

and regardless, I don't think it was an emotional claim, or some belief in the inherit superiority of the conference that led people to believing the SEC was better. it was based on facts, if that changes so be it.

You will be surprised. I keep hearing about how Ohio State and company don't play anyone, etc. Part of me finds it funny but it just sounds stupid.

Granted, I do think Indiana and Penn State should be punished this year for their OOC. If Michigan is 9-3 and both of them are 10-2, I think playoff committee should heavily consider Michigan because they were willing to play Oklahoma in their OOC and lost that game.

I would not agree Beck sucks. Most successful QB's are a product of hte talent around them. Nico is a good subject. Sucked at UT. Sucks way more at UCLA. Beck is a very good QB. Becks issue at UGA last year was mental and lockerroom. He got too self-serving. Driving his hyper car to the stadium and not with team. Having said car dlevered to Austin to drive to their stadium instead of with team. Kirby didn't curb his antics. He recovered some toward end of season, when it counted on the field. Even if he wanted to do his last year at UGA, he effectively worked his way out of that job with his teammates. But, when he is screwed on straight, he's as good as there is in college right now. And Miami likely serves his me first personality better. He can have his cake and eat it down there.

I guess the car helps his ego since he reminds me of the basketball player who played for Kentucky around 2008. I can't think of his name right now.

That rings a bell but can't think of it either. I'm sure going and sitting in the Lambo at night is soothing.

Both things can be true. Ohio State is a very good team who also don't play a tough schedule.

TBF-like half the Ohio State team opted out of that game vs Missouri.

That Mizzu team was far from middling. Was the best team they had fielded in at least 15 years. They also pantsed us.
