New York City

lol....
You don't even accurately respond to the topic of the lower level ideas.

Here it is..................
The right uses and abuses social media for propaganda purposes far more than the left!!!!!!!

That's a simple and straightforward statement.
Your response had absolutely NOTHING to do with that point.......but that's okay, I guess it served as a great distractor from the actual point......which is provable if you are willing to invest 5 minutes of your time.

Head in the sand denial may be easier./
This appears to be a really sensitive issue for you. May I do anything that helps you settle things down?

Give specifics. What do they not prosecute that represents apathy toward violent crime? Crime in NYC is WAY down from the Giuliani era for example, the end of your post is simply a lie and an easily verifiable one
Here are some examples I was looking at earlier:

Bail Reform: The 2019 law restricted judges' ability to set cash bail for most misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies, leading to the mandatory release of many accused individuals. Critics say this frees repeat offenders, making crime riskier for them.
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's Policies: District Attorney Bragg's "Day One" memo indicated his office would not prosecute certain nonviolent crimes and would downgrade many felony cases to misdemeanors. Critics point to instances where he downgraded felony charges, leading to increased crime.
Raise the Age Law: A 2017 law raised the age of criminal responsibility to 16 and then 18. However, critics say it overwhelmed juvenile facilities with older, more hardened offenders, some accused of violent crimes, leading to violence within the facilities themselves.
Arguments and Evidence Presented by Critics
Increased Crime and Vulnerability: Critics argue these policies have emboldened criminals, making New Yorkers feel more vulnerable.
Repeat Offenders: Examples such as Wilfredo Ocasio, arrested 33 times for petit larceny within three months, are cited as proof that the system allows accused criminals to repeatedly commit crimes while awaiting trial.
Mishandled Cases: The Manhattan Institute reported that the "discovery" rules, related to the handling of evidence, led to a significant increase in dismissed cases, with prosecutors being forced to drop charges and potentially putting suspects back on the streets without facing justice.
"Soft on Crime" Narrative: The term "soft on crime" is often used in political campaigns, particularly by Republicans, to criticize the policies of Democratic leaders like Governor Kathy Hochul.

I am not doing this ChatGPT BS but I said violent crime, throwing everyone in jail forever for misdemeanors did not work and did not make the city safer. Even then, "apathy" is more propaganda to describe an approach to nonviolent crime that isn't over-policing everything (which, again, doesn't work)

And all of the bolded here is very explicitly propaganda lol

Many of these offenders in the turnstile of arrest and release have past violent offenses. They go through this cycle until they kill or hurt someone. Patterns evidenced by Ocasio and the guy in North Carolina, countless others that are in obscurity. Violent offenders who continue to offend, even misdemeanors end up committing violent acts at a high rate, is usually just a matter of time.

As an impeccable member of the board who is widely influential, I must adhere to the highest standard of behavior possible. Can you imagine how grotesque this forum would be if you neanderthals were left to only your base mentality guiding you??

I am the guiding light which illuminates all you gather here.

Your response got poofed but saying the trafficked underaged Epstein girls deserved it because they got paid doesn't get poofed....

What???

Who offered that gem?

Never said it was. The men who knowingly have sex with underage girls know what they are getting themselves into legally. They were fools.

But all of those Epstein girls were not helpless little children raped by adult men. They were/are looking to get paid.

That's not how patterns work. A killer who has a criminal history does not mean that most people (or even many people) released with criminal histories become killers.

And again, you keep switching between violent and nonviolent crime. NYC isn't "apathetic" toward violent crime and violent crime is down 33% since 2000. Your AI slop response was all about nonviolent crimes so why are you talking about "violent offenders" again

Not really a sensitive issue at all for me.
But it certainly appears to be an issue you will continually ignore addressing.....understandable.
It's part of your shtick...
Off topic but I really hate the word shtick. It combines the other word for poop along with a blood sucking parasite. Now please go ahead and continue to bash Mcdad some more with his lack of understanding concerning NYC. We are fortunate you are around to provide expert analysis for all things Big Apple.

Now that I know you don't like the word, I will make sure to incorporate it more in my replies to you. Never, ever disclose your irritations, foibles, and nuisances in a group of friends.

I am Luther's whipping boy in this thread. I have a purpose.

I’ve always admired your brilliance from afar.

I consider you the pillar of the VN PF community.

If there were a Mount Rushmore of PF posters you would either be 1A or 1B right beside of VolProof.

You, sir, are obviously supremely intelligent and discerning. I humbly agree with all you said.

Well done.

You are most certainly fortunate to have me around, but I have not been specifically discussing NYC (even though my knowledge is vast).
My question was "why do so many conservatives feel the continued need to portray NYC and other large cities in the most negative way possible?"

The answers (which have not been provided) would be fascinating.

And my follow up point was that the right uses and abuses social media for propaganda purposes to a far greater degree than does the left.......and that this is a provable fact with minimal effort at research.

Shockingly, it generated little rebuttal but plenty of distractors.

The PF shtick dodoleach.

Not all violators are violent, but all violent offenders have typically committed non violent offenses. And violent offenders typically reoffend somewhere around two thirds of the time. If they in that revolving door they'll almost assuredly commit a violent offense. At some point don't you think they've forfeited their rights to be among the rest of us and deserve to stay locked up?

Some felony charges have been reduced to misdemeanors. Many charges are dismissed under Bragg for procedural issues including violent offenses.

I'm not sure how you can't call that soft on crime. They certainly aren't aggressive on the issue. Cashless bail.

And I'm careful about condemning people as I've been to prison. I know people who are stuck in the cycle. But my opinion doesn't change, you have to be dedicated to stay in that cycle.
