247 says 12 4*I know most here will laugh but going forward Vanderbilt is going to be a competitive program. They are now using their academic degree integrity to persuade 3 & 4 year players to transfer in, finish with a VU degree or MBA & complete their career there. This year they have 28 4 & 5+ year players which makes them one of the most mature teams in the league. It shows with how physical they are.
Until someone beats 'em....Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia sounds off on Alabama matchup: 'If we play our game, it won't be close'.

You don’t want that…and like many who were quick to dismiss MS state and mark it as an automatic W, you cannot count your chickens before they hatch. Vandy cost us a shot at the SECCG in 2016. Probably would have got smoked by Bama again, but at least we would have made an appearance. Crazy we have not been to one in almost 20 years. I could see Vandy being a good program. Great city, best area HS talent in the state, and a very prestigious academic program. It could happen and it would suck for UT. When Franklin left for PSU I was relieved. He was a real problem at Vandy. Little Mason tried but he just wasn’t as good of a coach. I think Lea might be pretty legit, and he played at Vandy, and in this NIL era it certainly is plausible.I think it would be far more interesting for the Tennessee-Vandy game to actually mean something—maybe the winner gets a playoff spot and the loser is out? Would be more satisfying to beat the ‘Dores with those stakes on the line than just another game with little to no drama. Might actually make this a legit rivalry.
