Celebrating Jewish Heritage and Culture

I’ve not spent much time contemplating it, but I think it’s curious the distinction people make between Jewish cultural vs religious identity and how it comports to their position on certain issues of the day. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think it exists in any other culture that has roots in a religious community.

I think it's more apparent with Jewish people partly because of how small their numbers are, and also how common it is for them to lean agnostic...but this exists all over. For example, an Irish Catholic is a perfect example of that where their religion is often just a reflection of their culture and not really their faith at all.

There are cultural Muslims, too.

I grew up Mormon and still culturally feel like a Mormon even though I haven't gone to church in 18 years.

what are your favourites? I keep coming back to symphonies 2 and 6 plus Das Lied von Der Erde
Both are excellent especially 2 which I really enjoy. I'm also drawn to 5 and 9. Know it sounds kind of cliche, but despite the hype around Adagietto, it gets me every time. Just never gets stale. Not sure I could pick one tho. It would be between 2 and 9 for me.
