No one has forgotten. How long are you going to measure our success as compared to the butch/dooley/pruitt years? You should evaluate your standards. I benchmark the team that UT should be and has been. Not the dumpster fire. Continue to use our worst years as your measuring stick if it makes you feel like we are on fire.
I love Heupel and hope he stays for 20 years, but Lebby coached circles around him today. Thankfully, Hood, West, Josephs, Aguilar, and Brazzell are dogs. They bailed him out today.
You are ridiculous...and hire who?
Once again, it all depends on what you consider “excellent”. Maybe you’d be happy for the next 20 years winning 8-10 a year but never coming close to another SEC championship, not to even mention a natty. That’s where we’re at. It’s easy to throw numbers out there that don’t really paint the true picture.30 wins in 3 seasons is excellent under any measuring stick.
And this is where the ignorance really shows with many of our fans. You talk about the team that UT “has been” ….
Okay, that is a .673 winning percentage, which equates to an average of 8 wins in a 12 game season. Heupel has a .711 winning percentage at UT, which includes his first season.
Once again depends on your definition of “lucky” and “standards”. Will you say the same in another 5 years if we’re still winning 8-10 a year but coming nowhere close to a SEC title or natty? Where do you set the “bar”?My point is that people on here talking about fireable offenses is totally ridiculous. We are lucky to have Heupel. If you don't see that, you are delusional.

Cheer these numbers all you’d like but I’m not going to use those numbers as my “excellent” standard because I know they’re just that. Numbers. If me not being content with never winning another SEC title or natty makes me an “ignorant” fan, I’ll happily wear that label.
I can live with my high standards being “ignorant”. You keep living with your low standards being “excellent”.
Draw play with 15 seconds left? Let a whole minute just bleed lackadaisicaly. Horrible.

Kirby also made some bad decisions. Went for it on 4th instead of tying the game. Then took one of his timeouts a few seconds before the 2 minute warning. Coaches make mistakes. I imagine some delusional Georgia fans are calling for him to be fired. Some fans are just nuts. GBOYou could be Kirby and likely losing because you went for it instead of tying the game
We sacked them 5 times on D, I wouldn’t say they dominated. Joey had much more time to throw overall than there quarterback did. They did run the ball better overall but in crunch time we stopped them and we ran the ball better. Look at the stats, we weren’t dominated. GBOI think that goes too far.
What stood out to me today the most is how significantly State won the LOS on both sides of the ball.
If anything, our coaches showed a lot by putting the team in a position to win despite this most vital part of the game being near-dominated by the opponent.
That’s fine. But after that, the Vols ran for a first down on 3rd and 1 with about 15 seconds left with 2 timeouts left. And instead of taking a time out, we tried to quickly run a play which failed miserably and ran the clock all the way down to 4 seconds. That was a terrible decision. After getting the first down with 15 seconds left, we should have immediately taken a time out. Then tried to gain about 10 more yards and taken our final time out to attempt a 45-50 yard FG.Disagree. CJH let 25 seconds run to ensure that MSU wouldn't have any time if we didn't convert on 3rd.
He just now has his first class he recruited from start to finish and best blue chip ratio and average recruit rating in decades but you want to fire him after a game we won and if a kid makes a FG, first win vs Ga in a decade. I don’t want to hire anyone else. Let him see where this goes or you could be cheering for a 5-7 maybe 6-6 team again. You are the LAME one. This is always a lame response. There is no guarantee with any hire. You take a chance at getting a better coach or you don’t. You can’t tell the future.
Ga had a heupel some years ago. His name was richt. He’d win you 8-10 a year but could never when the big ones when it mattered. Sound familiar? They took a chance. Does Kirby ring a bell?
