'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Mississippi State vs Tennessee Pre-game/Game Thread

Defense just needs to figure out how to seal the edge and get their RB down. Something I haven’t seen is struggle with in several years.

Even if we win, I’ve seen enough to realize that we won’t beat Bama or Florida on the road.
Yep no way we win in Tuscaloosa like this, it’s everything today plus the officiating shenanigans that always happen down there

Offensive line isn’t playing up to par though. I think that gets adjusted at the half. Running backs don’t understand to cutback sometimes on the counter. It’s been there a couple of times..

CJH has made lots progress since he's been here but playing on the road against an inferior opponent and not putting them away is the next step. We've lost 4 of last 5 road games, and this needs to change.
Refocus during halftime and get after it last 30 min.

Go Vols!!

Down 2 top corners, Moi rusty, starting linebacker dealing with turf toe. When we have blitzed its looked good.

They haven’t been able to stop the run all year but we’ve been held to 40 something yards. Didn’t see that one coming.
I think they're selling out to stop it, which is opening up the passing game. We're averaging like 15 yards per completion. And if Matthews or Staley could catch, it'd be wen more.

We are not a flawless team. We knew we were not flawless. We knew we had holes everywhere. We knew Matthews and Staley had brick hands. We knew we'd be thin on defense. We knew we had a young kicker.

We let the hype of the Syracuse game and the Georgia game reset expectations and blind the flaws.

We are still a good team and a well-coached team. Our OL and QB are far better than we expected. But due to our flaws, we are gonna see sloppiness. Enjoy the ride and let's pull this out.
