The Official #15 Tennessee vs. Miss St Game Thread, 4:15 ET, SECN

Dude are you just following me around to every thread trying to stir stuff up? Yes I watch football, probably a lot longer than you have.
Seriously? This is called a game thread and guess what’s on? A game. Sure, I’m following you though.

We've got to clean it up the 2nd half.
They're going to have to stop State RB, need more stacking the box and brining men. Already see their QB can be rattled.
Tell Stanley he's going to get plenty practice blocking today.
No FG to win the game, go for it.

I would love to believe that we are a playoff-level team, but our run defense has been abysmal all year.

We have made stars of the RBs for all 3 decent teams we've played this year. Used to be we made the backup QBs celebrities, but it seems this year it's the RBs.

I mean we’ve dropped a sure 6 on a deep ball. Missed a field goal after a 4th down conversion. Not sure what else he should do
1/6 on 3rd down. After the really good 4th and 2, I thought we could’ve ran some better plays under the 2 minute.

State is bringing a lot of pressures to try and throw Joey off. Gotta 🔒 in this 2nd half

Yup, this looks like a sloppy clunker Kirby is prone to do against teams like KY, Mizzou, etc. It’s clear that Tennessee is the more talented team. Hopefully they have an awakening at the break.
Good point. I’m concerned as it’s difficult to clean up miscues at the half.

IMO, we must blitz most downs. Something tells me State will go down field more in 2nd half. And-or go on a 12 play drive running the ball. It’s 84 degrees and our D is getting worn down.

Offense - too many miscues. Joey started missing some throws last two possessions. State getting more pressure by changing scheme.

Dropped passes - one for a wide open TD. Two for 1st downs.

I would love to ask Barry Odom to expound on his quote about Heupel being a “stone cold killer”. Since we obviously aren’t a disciplined team…we should at least be an aggressive one.

I don't think that Gilbert seems to want to hold onto his job as the Kicker. Even though our defense is getting thrashed with the run, we are fortunate to be tied with the Bulldogs at 17 and we get the ball back beginning the third quarter. We got to make a statement and take that damn ball down and score.
