I guess it depends on how you define “true” wealth. There’s plenty of 401k millionaires. Millionaires next door who didn’t own businesses. I personally don’t think you need 10s of millions to feel wealthy, at least not today currently.
About 4% have saved a million. Way low #.

True wealth is having 10 mil plus. IMO

Roundabouts are lovely...Add light rail, bicycle lanes, & decent buses (depending on what all you need based on city size) & now we're cooking with fish grease!

Let's add some high speed rail while we're at it...that way legislation doesn't make all our old 4x4s, hot rods, & bikes illegal

@Brillovol...thoughts?
I’m a fan of rail, but it’s just so dang expensive to build and maintain. Population density in the US generally doesn’t support transit to a large extent.

In the meantime, make our roads safer and improve interchanges and intersections.

I’m not buying jack from you… after the last piece of crap you sold me

Hey Seahawks, going 13 personnel 3 plays in a row when you're at the very edge of your kickers range causes your lead to evaporate

Depends on where you live and who your friends and hobbies are.

Over 1.1M 401k & IRA Millionaires at Fidelity alone.

Not a low #
Yeah not hard to believe. Plenty of millionaires made with simple monthly contributions + employer match. Market has been skyrocketing for a decade now. I mean mine is really starting to compound after about 8 years. Oldheads who’ve been steady for the last 30 years are up massively.

I’ve been in for about 20 years now. Time in the Market > Timing the Market.

Bigger question to me is "what is the goal?"

Whatever "true wealth" means, those levels won't bring any additional joy or contentment. Research says it peaks anywhere from $100k - $150k/yr.

Wealth for wealth's sake feels like an empty journey. There are more important things, whether personal, religious, familial, helping others, etc. Money is just a tool, an end to those true means. But you can't buy more family, love, connection, and definitely not closer to god and the eye of the needle. But to each their own.

Well, 4% of 350M people would be about 14M. 1.1M would suggest Fidelity has about a 7.5% market share, and while I don't know what their actual market share is, that number passes a sanity test.

Point is, you could both be correct. I don't think the two stats are necessarily in conflict or mutually exclusive.
